Are you sick of your kids saying they're hungry ALLLLL day now that they're at home? I'm sure it's just for something to do (I know I'm visiting the pantry way more than usual! 😆), but I find it really frustrating. I like a bit of structure and routine around mealtimes, but that's me.
So, I've told my kids that if they want to eat outside of mealtimes, they have to make it!
This morning, about an hour after breakfast they were complaining that they were hungry. So, I suggested they make a smoothie and they did. My two year-old is learning to use a kid safe knife, which is awesome. Here's our choc banana smoothie recipe:
2 cups of milk of choice (we used almond)
2 bananas, chopped
1 Tbsp peanut butter
1 Tbsp honey
! Tbsp chia seeds
1 Tbsp cacao
! tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp cinnamon
6 cubes of ice
Blend in a food processor for a minute or so until smooth. Yum! And it kept them going until lunchtime, yay! Oh, and it's perfectly acceptable to wear a spiderman costume or Christmas pyjamas anytime you like under these conditions 😂
Please share your kids favourite smoothie combinations.
