Are you sick of your kids saying they're hungry ALLLLL day now that they're at home? I'm sure it's just for something to do (I know I'm visiting the pantry way more than usual! 😆), but I find it really frustrating. I like a bit of structure and routine around mealtimes, but that's me.

So, I've told my kids that if they want to eat outside of mealtimes, they have to make it!

This morning, about an hour after breakfast they were complaining that they were hungry. So, I suggested they make a smoothie and they did. My two year-old is learning to use a kid safe knife, which is awesome. Get yours here if you want one 👉 https://www.foost.com.au/product/firstnext-knife/ref/44/ (disclaimer: it's our affiliate link, so you'll be treating Rach and I to something exciting like hand sanitiser!).

Here's our choc banana smoothie recipe:

2 cups of milk of choice (we used almond)
2 bananas, chopped
1 Tbsp peanut butter
1 Tbsp honey
! Tbsp chia seeds
1 Tbsp cacao
! tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp cinnamon
6 cubes of ice

Blend in a food processor for a minute or so until smooth. Yum! And it kept them going until lunchtime, yay! Oh, and it's perfectly acceptable to wear a spiderman costume or Christmas pyjamas anytime you like under these conditions 😂

Please share your kids favourite smoothie combinations.

Don't these Raspberry Pancake Bites look gorgeous?

Our good friends at cooked them up and their recipe couldn't be easier:

❤️Raspberry Pancake Bites are so easy to make when you don't have time to be in the kitchen cooking them.
❤️It's just 4 tablespoons of buckwheat flour, 4 eggs and 2 bananas blended up and poured in mini cupcake moulds (1 tablespoon each).
❤️Crumble frozen organic raspberries on top and cook at 180.C for 15 minutes

Enjoy!

Bliss Balls are a snack that is enjoyed by my whole family. As a mum, life is busy and my energy reserves tend to start to deplete mid afternoon. These Apricot, Chia & Coconut Bliss balls are a source of natural energy help to give me the boost I need to get through the rest of the day.

My kids love them too, and I love that they are a sweet yet nutritious snack that will satisfy their hunger and keep them from raiding the pantry! They fit perfectly into the lunchbox, and I love that they freeze so well which means I can have a supply of them ready to go.

I thought this might interest some of you whose kids have upcoming birthdays. It's a virtual birthday party, where the kids cook live with their friends. It's led by a lovely team member from Foost, who have cooked with over 35,000 kids, so you know they're awesome!

Each child will cook either a mug cake OR a pizza from their own home (ingredients list supplied). Children will also make a joint digital birthday card, sing happy birthday (over their cooked mud cake or pizza) and play interactive games.

I love the idea that all the guests could be wearing the same aprons, chef hats, and using kiddie safe knives.

If you book it in, use our code LITTLEPEEPS to get 10% off.

My kids LOVE putting on costumes. Do yours? Kids everywhere enjoy pretending they're someone or something else, and engaging in dramatic role playing. When they put a costume on, they become that character, whether it's a superhero, doctor, cat, pirate, or ballerina.

Dressing up is an important part of a child's growth and development, and has so many benefits. It engages their imagination, builds their confidence, and helps them to make sense of their world.

How about a chef costume like these ones from Foost? If you would like to get your kids into the kitchen more, or foster more interest in food (a great idea for those picky eaters), make it lots of fun for them by letting them play a character, like they would have seen in restaurants or in movies.

Oh, and it will keep your kid's clothes clean - bonus! It includes an apron (which comes in 4 colours), chef's hat, and a safe kids knife. It's everything a little peep needs to get excited about helping you with meal planning and preparation.

Grab yours here, and don't forget to use our discount code LITTLEPEEPS to save yourself 10%.

Happy cooking with your junior chefs! 😊
