My name is Heather Shields and I’m a creative photography major at the University of Florida graduating with my BFA in Spring 2020. Im a freelance photographer who focuses on portraiture with an emphasis on family and newborn sessions.

I’m also a mother to a beautiful little girl who I delivered naturally in 2013. For my senior project at the University of Florida, I would like to capture labor, birth, and moments after the baby arrives to celebrate the resilience of motherhood.

Birth photos will be offered the months of December through early April. I’m looking to work with at least 5 or more families during this time.

Participating families would not be charged and digital files would be sent 3-4 weeks after the baby has arrived. I will be using the photos in a show at the end of the Spring semester. Photos will also be given to you and can be used with credit. Please let me know if any families would be interested in using me as a birth photographer for these coming months.
