School holidays just got a whole lot more fun 🌟

Another amazing camp day at NextSense School! Heart rates & spirits were high as friends reconnected over activities from ball games and gymnastics to dancing 🤸

The day ended with the colour run, where participants raced through a series of obstacles to be greeted by explosions of coloured chalk 🌈

A big thank you to our teachers, families & ZING Activ! These events are always a highlight of the school holidays ✨

Two of our outstanding Year 11 School Support students, Rhianna & Sam, are off to Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama 🚀

With the guidance of their NextSense support teachers, Monica and Joy, they’ve joined 200+ blind & low vision students from across the globe at the SCIVIS (Space Camp for Interested Visually Impaired Students) at U.S. Space & Rocket Center.

From piloting shuttles & simulating zero gravity to sleeping in old NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration rockets, this experience will bring new challenges & unforgettable memories 🌟

Manager of NextSense School Support Services Pranitha calls it “a life-changing experience. Students return more confident, independent & with lifelong friendships” 💫

On 11 September, our NextSense School community came together to mark R U OK? Day 💛

We started the morning with tai chi, setting the tone for reflection. Throughout the day, students and staff explored what it feels like to be flourishing, going ok, struggling or in crisis.

Most importantly we checked in with each other, reminding ourselves that every conversation matters. Asking “R U OK?” can make a difference 💬✨

Thank you 🎉

Your incredible generosity on Giving Day raised over $360,000 to help deaf, hard of hearing, blind & have low vision students receive high-quality education at NextSense School!

And those donations will be matched by our amazing partners AuCA - Australasian College of Audiometry, The Matchmore Group, John & Lynne Church, The Henson Foundation, The Gaudry Foundation, John Dorrington & Dr Andrew Pethebridge.

We couldn’t have done it without our corporate volunteers from Macquarie University & Pfizer Australia & our sponsors SRL Sports & MicroRentals.
