What’s the story about Mower County Public Health’s H.E.R.O. campaign?

Have you ever dreamed of being a hero?

Today is your chance! Mower County Public Health has been invited to participate in United Way of Mower County’s Student Service Week (June 9th – June 13th).

Join us for one of our two Health Emergency Response Operations (H.E.R.O.) sessions and boost your emergency response and preparedness skills!

What we have to offer:

-Mower County Public Health’s PHEP (Public Health Emergency Preparedness) team will guide you on how to prepare you and your family, your neighborhood, and your community for any emergency.
-Have the opportunity to become a community champion and learn about the MNResponds volunteer network, a critical partner for Public Health during emergencies.
-In partnership with the American Heart Association, you'll get CPR and First Aid certified, equipping you with essential skills to provide aid when needed.
-Receive 3 hours of volunteering towards your volunteer requirements.

You’ll never know when a disaster will strike, and a hero is called upon – will you be the one to answer the call? Become a HERO today!

National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week in 2025 is held from April 13th to April 19th. This week is dedicated to recognizing and honoring the vital contributions of public safety telecommunicators, who are the voice on the other end of a 9-1-1 call.

To those who answer the call, the often forgotten, the overlooked; we see you, we hear you.

You are not "just a dispatcher," you are our lifeline, and to that we are forever grateful.

We would like to say a heartfelt Thank You on National First Responders Day to our amazing volunteers on the Adams Area Ambulance and Adams MN Fire Department! We appreciate each and every one of you and the sacrifices you make to serve our communities.

National First Responders Day!

Our first responders sacrifice so much to serve our communities, and we’re so grateful for them.

If you see a first responder today (or any day!), make sure to tell them how much they’re appreciated!

Law enforcement, fire, dispatch, EMS-we see you. Thank you for being the good in the world!
