Support Yemeni Organization for Development SYS is thrilled to announce that we’ve been chosen as the Project of the Month for September 2024.
Our work Urgent Appeal for Assistance to Flooding in Yemen http://goto.gg/65997 aims to provide emergency intervention and immediate support to alleviate suffering and restore livelihoods was selected from a pool of more than 5,000 nonprofit projects in 170+ countries. Nearly 3,000 donors come together and make monthly donations to keep the Project of the Month going. With this extra support, we’ll be able to provide immediate relief, including food, clean water, medicine, and shelter for those who have lost everything.

for Assistance to Flooding in Hodeida, Yemen
The recent heavy rains have caused severe flooding in Hodeida, leading to a humanitarian crisis. The floods have devastated homes, farms, and infrastructure, leaving many residents in urgent need of assistance.
Current Situation
The flooding has primarily affected the areas of Al-Maraw’a, Al-Mansouriya, and Bayt Al-Faqih in Hodeida, as well as parts of Hajjah Governorate1. The torrential rains have resulted in significant damage to homes and farms, displacing many families and causing loss of life and property.

الأمم المتحدة تحذر من التراجع في تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة

حذرت الأمم المتحدة من أن الفشل في مضاعفة الجهود من أجل تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة، قد يؤجج عدم الاستقرار السياسي ويؤدي إلى انتكاس الاقتصادات، ويفضي إلى ضرر لا يمكن إصلاحه للبيئة الطبيعية.

جاء ذلك في الإصدار الخاص لتقرير أهداف التنمية المستدامة لعام 2023 الذي نُشر بالتزامن مع انطلاق فعاليات المنتدى السياسي رفيع المستوى بشأن التنمية المستدامة، الذي ينظمه المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي للأمم المتحدة ويهدف إلى بناء الزخم لإعادة أهداف التنمية المستدامة الـ 17 إلى مسارها الصحيح، بعد مضي نصف المدة المقررة لتحقيق هذه الأهداف بحلول 2030.
