What a lovely surprise 🤩

We are so glad to see you doing so well!
As Occupational therapists we walked Mpho’s journey with her, from hospital admission, rehabilitation and ultimately return to work and her everyday life.

It was a privilege to be part of this journey and the reason we become OTs. Thank you Mpho for being such a dedicated patient, you made our day! 👌🏼💙

So many splints… but which one to choose? 🤷🏼‍♀️

OTs are known to be adaptable, especially when it comes to ensuring that treatment is individualised to our patients needs! 👌🏼

That’s why we assess thoroughly, choose the appropriate treatment plan, & adapt according to how the patient responds. ✨

Take Mr G for example ☝🏼 Zone II FDS & FDP laceration with a delayed surgical repair. Getting maximal tendon excursion while still protecting his tendon repair was extremely important!
So fitting him with this Manchester Splint blocked full extension but facilitated our early-active-mobilisation approach 😎

February 2026 = 10 YEARS of Nat & Jess 💙

It all started when Natalie decided to give a little straight-outta-commserve (Jessica) a chance at learning the ways of an OT in hand therapy 💪🏼 and as they say… the rest is history!

There have been highs & lows, difficult learning curves & many reasons to celebrate 🥂 & along the way we created Powell and Dent Occupational Therapy Inc 🩵

It doesn’t end here!!! 🫶🏼

October wasn’t just another awareness month — it was a movement 🩷

Our P&D team joined many other South Africans for a single, life-changing mission: 𝙏𝙤 𝙈𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙁𝙤𝙧 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚.

The Imagine Challenge was a national drive to fund free breast cancer screenings for women in need. 🎀 Each screening gives a woman education, early detection, and access to care — often for the first time. 🫶🏼

raised a phenomenal 𝐑𝟔 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧!
Funding 𝟒𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬! 🤩 We are very proud to have taken part in this amazing project!

Sometimes an injury is more than what it appears to be… 🦴 although the X-rays show us fractures (like this ulnar styloid) it doesn’t show the ligament laxity that then results in wrist instability!!! 🙁

For this hockey player - this Meunster Splint stabilised his ORIF & prevented forearm rotation to ensure he regained full wrist stability, mobility, strength & function! 💪🏼

He is now fully back in action - on & off the hockey field! 🏑

A group of South African Occupational Therapists donate their time to assist with post operative splinting & pressure garments for burns patients in Uganda and Benin who have not had access to adequate care. 🫶🏼

Jen Blenkinsop will be riding The Munga Equipe mountain bike relay race in support the cause. 🚴🏼‍♀️💪🏼

Cute Project SA raises funds to assist with resources needed to give these patients the necessary care that is lacking in these countries. ♥️
