My health Journey Post: Ok, where am I so far!
2023 started off a little bumpy. Heck, I mean A LOT bumpy.
After ignoring my gut for so long, it made itself heard and I HAD to make better food choices. Even while still on holiday. Sad about no wine :( sad about no wheat and dairy :( sad about no sugar :( but this is the protocol that I knew would help me.
Let me now skim past the fact that I'm 20kg overweight with a gut that is shouting at me and in peri-menopause. There was no ignoring that...
Past 2 months have been tough but very slow progress on the scale but happy to celebrate a 4kg drop. But you know what makes this even better? My energy is feeling better, I'm coping through the day better, and my gut has calmed down more.
Notice, I didn't say its gone. I said a lot of improvements have been made. Journey is a tricky word - its really one meal at a time, one step at a time....
This week my struggle? Massive PMS, mood swings and cravings. This pic? Me giving into rice crackers :) could be worse, was headed for the Lays
My win? Got the gym for some strength training and feeling stronger.
So my tips to you. Be kind to yourself. If you are having cravings, make better choices. If you can, add protein to whatever you're eating, this will reduce your insulin response. And remember to pump iron when you can.... Most important addition we can make as we progress through stages in our lives. I want to be a feisty granny someday.
See ya next week...
Let me know if you have any hacks you want to share
