Lauren Slade
Lauren Slade, obtained her Bachelor of Optometry degree (Cum Laude) from Technikon
Witwatersrand in 2001. She purchased Meyersdal Optometrist in 2006 and has taken it from a small and struggling practice to one of the most successful and respected practices in the South of Johannesburg. In 2013 she was approached by Carl Zeiss Vision to open and run a highly exclusive Zeiss Retail Experience Store which she opened under the name of ModernEyes Optometrists in September 2015 in the Mall of the South.
Damien Bartlett
In 2008, Damien qualified and graduated with a B.Tech Optometry degree from the University of Johannesburg. Damien started his professional career at an upmarket private practice located in the West of Johannesburg, where he spent 10 years practising as an independent optometrist which afforded him the time to offer his patients professional and personalised eye care.
His practice philosophies have remained unchanged, as he continues to provide individualized eye care at ModernEyes Optometrists working with state-of-the-art digital and automated optical diagnostic equipment, ably assisted by a professional support team. Damien provides full-scope eye care including refractive evaluation, contact lens evaluation (soft, hard and scleral lenses), low vision assessments and rehabilitation therapy as well as primary medical eye care.
