When I was younger, I dreamed of being a reconstructive surgeon. My mom raised me to believe I could have it all — a big family, a fulfilling career, a happy marriage, and balance.

Reality looks a little different — and even better. I have three amazing kids, a husband beyond what I hoped for, and a career I love. I may not use a scalpel, but I still get to restore harmony and confidence — just with fillers instead.

It was a privilege to work on this patient’s nose. A touch of balance and symmetry can go a long way in how we face the world.

Chin filler isn’t just about the chin — it’s about balance.

In this case, we used a small amount of hyaluronic acid filler to subtly support and project the chin, whilst elongating the lower face. This brings the facial thirds into better proportion and helps create a more balanced profile.

The goal? Harmony — not perfection.

It’s a beautiful example of how small, precise changes can enhance the overall facial structure — without altering your unique features.

The Pre-Teen Phase of Aging ✨💫

We talk a lot about how tough the teen years can be, but let’s not forget the ‘tween’ phase—those awkward, in-between years of not quite being a child, yet not fully a teen. I’ve watched two of my kids navigate this stage—caught between clinging to childhood and stepping into what’s next.

And honestly? Our late 30s and 40s feel the same. We become more aware of the shifts in our bodies, our roles, and the ticking of time. There’s a pull between holding onto youth and stepping into what’s ahead. It can feel unsettling, but it’s normal.

If you can trust the process and allow this phase to shape you, you’ll emerge exactly who you’re meant to be. 💛✨

Many new patients tell me they chose to book their first appointment with me based on my appearance, finding comfort in the fact that I’ve had minimal work done. The truth is, I’ve been using fillers and toxin injections regularly for the past 15 years. I don’t follow a strict schedule; instead, I gently address areas of wear and tear as they appear.

Looking at these photos of myself at 24 and 42, I’m amazed at how different I look. But what’s even more surprising is how, at 42, I resemble my 11-year-old self more than I did at 24!

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the not so subtle magic of masseter slimming (thank you, toxin for jaw clenching!) and the brilliance of the ‘lip flip.’🤩

Before and After 1ml 👄 filler. Injected over 2 sessions.

10 years ago I would inject a full 1ml every time I injected lips. These days I usually start with 0.5ml and if needed, add more a few weeks later.

I find this generally ensures a more natural looking result…which is always my goal.

Hey 👋 PRO-Aging is the way forward!

The term “anti-aging” has never resonated with me. It perpetuates the idea that aging is something to fear or resist.

But aging is a natural, inevitable part of life, and holding a negative view towards it can be draining. I don’t want that mindset for myself, nor do I want it for my patients.

Instead, I believe in embracing this natural process with grace. Focus on supporting your body—your face, neck, and décolleté—as you age. You might choose similar treatments, but the difference will be a vibrant sense of vitality and an undeniable light shining from your eyes 🤩

Also, it’s been fascinating watching my grey hair grow for almost 2 years…time for a new profile picture!

When assessing a face, my first priority is to help it look less angry, tired or grumpy (‘resting b*tch face’ becomes more common as you age).

Once I’ve achieved that, I get to play with balance and symmetry. I frequently marvel at how small changes, like straightening a nose’s profile, rejuvenate one’s visage.

How long does filler last in the lips?

Honestly, it depends on YOU.

Because Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in human connective tissue, the rate at which it breaks down depends very much on how your body treats all the other hyaluronic acid in your body!

This ‘after’ photo was taken *one year* following this patient’s last lip filler treatment with me. Her lip journey started in 2021, followed by annual top ups with dermal filler. In this instance, I would have been happy to send her on her way with no top up, because the effect was still 👌🏼 - even after 12 months!
However, the patient had other ideas, and made sure she didn’t leave without getting a little extra pump. 😉👄

On the other end of the spectrum, I have another patient who absolutely loves how dermal filler enhances her lip volume, but has to revisit me *every three months*, because her body absorbs the filler far more quickly. 😫 (I have tried 10 different fillers, but the results are always the same.)

I generally advise patients that the effect will last between 6 and 9 months.

This is a showing lip rejuvenation with dermal filler. The ‘after’ pic was taken immediately after the treatment. As you can see, there is minimal swelling and no obvious bruising. This is not the norm.

Bruising and swelling after lip filler is common. I tell all my patients to expect it. Thankfully, this time, we got lucky 🍀

The risk can be reduced by stopping alcohol/omega supplements/anti-inflammatory meds 5 days before your treatment.

This is an example of the effect of dermal filler in the mid-face. Note the improved volume and overall sense of refreshment in this already beautiful face.

Even if you were born with the rosiest, plumpest, peach-pink cheeks that Disney could imagine, this fullness and healthy curve will sink and droop over time. ( ) The net effect of time’s relentless assault on your face is an overall impression of weariness.

When Henry Thoreau wrote “To be awake is to be alive”, he was making a connection between consciousness and true vitality. But sometimes - even if your gusto has deserted you temporarily - just appearing more energetic can do the trick until your morning coffee kicks in, and returns the spring in your step.
