Good evening

EPMDS: payment of EPMDS is long over due infact it was supposed to be paid in july this year,our KZN department is still struggling with finances but they will back pay us,we would advice ours members and employees to check with their HR department to see if they are due for payments and make sure all documents are up to date,if not there's still a chance to rectify any mistakes before it's too late.

ESCORTING

members would recall that the issue of es**rting is being discussed at the PSCBC(chamber)we are waiting in anticipation for the resolution,the circular of march 2015 on es**rting state that there must be transport allocated for es**rt nurses,overtime payment and an indemnity cover.

TRANSPORT:magement had hired a private transport company to ensure nurses don't sleep at the benches at an es**rting destinations.memorundum had being circulated to all department and wards about this,an es**rt nurse would call a number a company car would come to pick that nurse up.

OVERTIME PAYMENT: overtime payment had being athourised by the district to es**rt nurses they will now be paid in money not time,which means overtime come to force after working hours had lapse which is after 18h00.

INDEMNITY COVER:the circular in itself offer as an indemnity cover as long as the name of an es**rt nurse is entered in to the trip sheet,the destination,date,time and name of the patient are also entered that serves as a cover should anything happen.

DRIPS INSERTION AND BLOOD WIDRWAL

this issue was intensevely debated and beared no resolution,there would be a meeting sometime next week to extensively deberate on it,all parties will be involved including doctors,a resolution of harmony and team work is looming.

SUNDAY NIGHTSHIFT ALLOWANCE OWED

management had caculated everyone's hours and submitted it to the district of which the district will send it to the head office for authourisation of those payments,since such payments fall outside an institutional budget,once authorisation occur staff members will then be adviced to fill in claim forms and those forms will be sent to the head office for payments.the resolution 2007 of PSCBC came to force in 2007 which means staff members are owed from 2007,having said that management says they can be able to aquire records from 2011 not 2007 because of lack of records.

All tribute to florence nightingale the mother,founder and the pioneer of the nursing proffesion,born and bred in london england on the 12th of may 1820 and died on the 13th of august 1910 she wore her heart on her sleeve,she was affectionaly known a lady with the lamp and the nurses pledge is done in her hounour,the nursing proffession is the biggest and the most fundamental health proffession world wide,indeed nursing is bigger than all of us,we thank lady florence for giving birth to this proffesion,we are proffesionals and we are respected through nursing,we feed our families through nursing,florence your body might be in that grave but your spirit shall continue to live forever,PSA says salute!!!!!1!

Dear members and collegues it's with great regret to advice you that our proposed marriage with NEHAWU is in a critical gasping mode,they threatened to abondon the coalition we trying to make with them by accusing us of pushing our own PSA agenda while using them in a process,they invited us to a meeting tomorrow to convince them as to why they must work with us,otherwise they will work solo as NEHAWU should we fail to be able to convince them,seeing that time is not by our side for silly politics we decided to abide,we hope we reach level ground and address worker's concerns as soon as possible,in the meantime we decided to start the work of our own so that we don't start from scratch should we part ways. #

We would like to notify members and colleagues that we've recieved this letter from management,this letter serves as a response to the letter(we) the organised labour had sent to management in request for the bilateral meeting of which they responded by mentioning that the meeting could'nt take place because the EXCO members were on leave and were to return on 4 april 2016,now the acting CEO is unavailable.

7.6% salary increase for public servants

members would recall that salary agreement for public servants was reached last year to provide for increase on 1 april 2016 equal to the projected CPI plus 1%.this was done by signing of all unions representing the majority employees on salary level 1 to 12 and those covered by occupation -specific dispensation(OSDS),the PSA has been invited to a special meeting to take place on 7 april 2016 with the following item as the only item on the agenda resolution 8 of 2015 for the period of 2015/2016-2017/2018 the expectation was that the salary increase would be annonced at that meeting,The DPSA(department of public service and administration) however posted corcular no 3 of 2016 on it's website on the 4 april 2016 indicating the increase as 7.6% .The increase os based on a projected CPI of 6.6 plus 1% as provided by mentioned resolution. #

MEETING UPDATE

Members and colleagues would recall that the page reported that we were to hold a meeting on monday as representatives from both NEHAWU and PSA under organised labour to propose a new date to meet the management since the EXCO(management)members were back from leave,indeed the meeting took place,in the meeting debate aroused as to why we need a meeting with management,since so many meetings were held before without bearing any fruits,why we think this meeting would be different from others?do we really need a meeting with management?we all know how management soon pull out diplomtic card when the going get tough,the wise men always say and i quote "continue to do the same thing and get the same results"we concluded that we need a new strategy and approach to engage the management if are to get the different outcome,once again we will meet tomorrow and unpack our different approach,watch the space for more updates. #
