Soaked Chai Seed trials… what a nutritionally dense food in so many ways!
I’ve done trials sweetening it with either honey, coconut sugar or home-made Pineapple syrup or Berry compote. For extra nutrition, I always add a dash of cinnamon and vanilla bean seeds.
This has slowly become one of my favourites😋 - particularly good for healthy eating on the go! I enjoy having a 3 day stash in the fridge that I can reach for and mix up to make sure I’m getting the right protein, fibre and nutrients I need🤍
Soaking (rinsed) seeds in warm water is best to get the perfect jelly that is soothing to the gut. Chai seed is high in protein and is more beneficial and easier to digest if soaked compared to raw.
To enjoy a creamier flavour and increase protein and fat, mix soaked Chai seeds with Kefir or Full cream Greek yogurt. It’s always about added nutrition for max. benefit to my digestion.
I usually only have about 3 Tbsp of my soaked Chai seed mix, per day… why? Because too much of anything can be harmful and just because it’s good doesn’t mean it’s good to have too much! 😁
