Please parents, go that extra step and have your child's eyes tested.
We are noticing more and more cases where certain things were not detected early enough and then we might not have any chance to try and regain what is damaged.

Always be cautious when joking around with someone.
This is a real case seen today at our practice.
The indicated part of the string on the hat was pulled downwards (not by the patient but by someone else) and it shot upwards into the patient's eye.
This was a big emergency and we were very lucky that Grootte Schuur responded quickly and the patient could get assistance today.
The end result has not yet been confirmed, we hope for the best.
