Is lip licking good for chapped lips?
No, lip licking causes chapped lips. Chapped lips are like diaper rash. Both conditions arise because of repeated wetting and drying of the skin. Use a good lip moisturizer, such as Palmer’s cocoa butter swivel stick, frequently during the day and especially before going to bed. This will heal the lips.

What to do for painful hang nails?
Hang nails arise because the nail plate cracks due to dryness. Prevent hang nails by using a hand moisturizer every night. My favorite is again Neutrogena Norwegian Formula hand cream. Rub it into your cuticles and nails every night. Trim your hang nail back with a sharp scissors and moisturize. Hang nails heal very quickly once the dryness resolves.

What to do for winter cracked heels?
Winter brings cold weather, low humidity and cracked heels. The body cannot heal the cracked calloused skin. The best way to remove this skin is to soak your feet in the bathtub for about 10 minutes. Then, take your fingernails and scratch off any skin that is easily removed. Then, soak your feet for another 5 minutes and scratch off the skin again. If rough skin is still remaining, wait another week and repeat the procedure. Always apply a good moisturizer, such as Neutrogena Norwegian Formula products.

Do facial exercise devices work?
There are a number of devices that you put in your mouth and chew on claiming to improve facial muscle tone thus smoothing wrinkles. Unfortunately, the muscles of the face are not like the muscles in your arms that will bulk up with use. Facial muscles cannot bulk up and therefore facial exercise devices are of limited value.
