Develop a treatment plan and goals.
Customise massage therapy sessions.

The GOAL behind having a personal therapist or regular maintenance of body wellness is, optimum performance looking to address flexibility and motion issues which impede on muscle function as well as minimising and even preventing unnecessary injuries.

To Acupuncture stimulating and affecting nervous system to promote healing and overall wellbeing. Trigger points targeted to release, to reduce pain and tension - dry needling.
..and the ripple effect on ones mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing becomes tangible through ones choices made and practiced.

Looking forward to being your wellness therapist of choice .

In a wellness session, always to listen to what the problem may be .

Stress and tension are great contributors to lower back pain and when doing "body mapping" due to lower back stress , quite a bit of focus shall be on the glute muscle, working into the seat of the sciatica

It is not the pain that would be addressed but rather understanding what is the cause of the pain.

Bad habits.

Lower back pain ...a physical challenge many people will go through more than once in their life.

Modern fast paced living being one of the root causes.

Looking fwd to assisting and releasing short tight muscles that may restrict movement....with follow up muscle maintenance sessions.

-.-

Our biggest and strongest muscle in our body, the glute muscle, our buttocks.

As always our bodies speak volume to possible reason of injury or challenged movement .

Weak glutes can lead to injury, imbalance and debilitating movement.

When focusing on issues such as lower back pain , any issues with the hip and leg or foot, one possible telling sign is weak glute muscles

Sprains in leg and foot joints can be minimized with the strengthening of glutes.

Addressing muscle imbalances knows to address those compensatory movements that place strain on joints and other muscles that can lead to a ripple effect of physical restraints.

As always , with the cyclists to ensure that those major muscles in the glute are seen to.

Looking fwd to assisting YOU understand your possible physical challenge and being your go to sport and body therapist.

-.-

If muscle maintenance is not the reason for booking a sport therapist, but rather an injury or repetitive pain leading to debilitating movement knowing to affect one's behavior due to the ongoing pain , please note...

As much relief one might gain in that first session of therapy, so much more follow up sessions are required to deal with the potential problem.

When asked when should I come again, each "next visit" depends on the massage therapy required.

Pls note. No pain no gain.

Also doesnt mean "hurting" the body through excessive force .

Looking fwd to making healthy "muscle memory" a relief from icky ni**les, aches and pains.

-.-

A little more on my acupuncture session today.

Focus being on the needle itself.

Each needle is individually sheathed. After use they are immediately discarded.

For those who fear needles and that it might be painful....

A hypodermic needle used for injections, no matter how thin it may be, the purpose is to break flesh and either extract fluid eg. Blood or insert fluid eg. Vaccine.

The acupuncture needle is so thin and fine and its purpose is to slide between the pores without breaking flesh. Should pain be experienced, which happens infrequently it could be due to hitting a nerve or vein.

There are various reasons why one would consider acupuncture but putting it in a nutshell is to restore balance and promote healing.

Looking fwd to assisting with any debilitating movement you may be experiencing or niggling recurring aches and pains.

It has been over two years since my last post.

Funny how lockdown, a distant dream only remember because of the dire ripple effects on society and community globally, did nothing more but add new struggles and challenges heavier than one could have imagined.

Did global society learn to be more humane, human, sympathetic and empathetic to the needs of one's fellow man or did we do exactly the opposite and become less sensitive to humanity, confusing ourselves with political correctness, boundaries pushed beyond acceptable and thus floudering to find the self in this layer upon layer of struggle and confusion.

They say....do not make money your God. I do not believe it means one should not be wealthy. For me it means living day in and day out worrying about money.
Where it is coming from next. Is there going to be enough for tomorrow.
Capitalism had made us consumers at the expense of our happiness and wellbeing, taking away the focus from the core that binds and keeps a household strong and sturdy....

FAMILY.

Today....what does mother mean to you?....what does father mean to you? Siblings? Grandma and grandpa....?

A numbed sort of emotion of something one might call "love and care" yet, the actions speak louder of no interaction or time to share of self with those who should be our closest allies.

It is the last day of the year 2023.

Actually..

Just another day of many days past and many new to rise.

My past years have been full of travel , full of hard work to survive the lockdown ripple effect, dedication and sacrifices made that i would have rather not made BUT, had to and am not sorry i did and now it is the RIGHT time to share, hopefully assist in the share , work together and as best as one can make the year 2024 better, stronger and possibly a more prosperous year through focus on self awareness, physical wellness and strength and...always but always remembering ...bettering oneself does leave a ripple effect on community and THAT is how we build a nation strong!
Taking that risk to believe in oneself is the first step to SELF EMPOWERMENT.

Please look out for my future posts on wellness both physically and mentally

For

A healthy mind is a healthy body

And

A healthy body is a healthy mind.

It is good to be back and looking forward to interacting once again

Be still.
Be quiet.
Let the inner self rest....and then, let us begin with a journey new.

Let me show you how.

Sincerely.

Lana.

Thank you Ravi for giving consent to post our session.

The condition was one of picking up a heavy object and within hours feeling a terrible pain in the lower back resulting in near impossible mobility.

One of the pointers to consider when picking up ANY heavy objects is to ensure you are standing in a steadfast and balanced position with your knees bent. Stand as close as possible to the object and try not raise the item higher than height of ones legs once they are fully extended.
The idea is to use ones inner core strength, tightening ones abdominal muscles and not raising the object with the top part of the body thus placing excessive pressure on lower back and upper body.
Also, ensuring, as much as possible, a "square" stance will minimise unnecessary twisting or pulling of muscles.

I was asked is it better to use hot or cold compress in such a case.

Both are good and both have a reason as to why used.

A cold compress helps to prevent further swelling and inflammation where-as a hot compress will help with blood flow and relieve tension and pain in muscle.

Thus an application of cold before heat might be the answer.

The aims was to massage and then apply acupuncture to the relevant areas requiring relief.

Repeat of such treatment all depends on the severity of the spasm.

Apart from suffering from a spasm, Ravi's recurring sciatica was also seen to.

I am a great believer of non-intrusive, non-invasive alternate therapy in the health and wellness field.

And thus, acupuncture which is known for assisting in cell regeneration, long term healing and relief, was the way to go.

Additional factors that can easily be applied in a situation like this are...

Mild stretching of affected area.
Ensuring hydration at all times
Sleeping with ones knees bent helps relieve pressure of lower back.

Please note: there is a HUGE difference between a syringe and an acupuncture needle.
The syringe needs to "break" flesh either to insert a liquid...or...remove a liquid.
In the case of the acupuncture needle...IT DOES NOT "BREAK" FLESH BUT, RATHER, SLIDES WITHOUT ANY PAIN INTO FLESH. The purpose is to either target the ailing muscles or / and detox the body through targeting the energy / meridian flows that affect our internal organs such as heart, kidney, lungs and more.

Looking forward to being of assistance to those suffering from spasms and other similar muscular challenges.

Firstly, i would like to thank Murray for coming through and claiming his FREE 1 hour therapy session.

In our session we addressed lactic acid buildup, tightness of muscles, knots and a recurring aching throb in the left shoulder.

A buildup of lactic acid can lead to muscle fatigue, aches and pain, cramps and an overall challenge on muscular performance and endurance.
It usually happens when there is a shortage of oxygen fed to the muscles which is required to convert glucose into energy. When there is a short supply of oxygen then lactic acid is produced.

Murray's field of sport is body building and crossfit and, in both cases the demand on the muscles is intense and hard.

Due to it being our first session my recommendation was an acupressure massage to understand, what i call "muscle lay" and potential areas needing therapy.

At the same time i shared some pointers that could be applied in his daily routine....and this would apply to all of us looking to ensure optimum muscle function.

1.Make sure to hydrate before, during and after any exercise regime.

2.A good breathing technique is always important feeding oxygen into the blood stream and filling the lungs to capacity...thus...breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth.

3.Stretch...before and after...an exercise regime.

4.Take breaks between intense exercising. it gives the body time to "feed" itself with oxygen.

5.If a new exercise programme is being attempted...try ease into it at a comfortable pace rather than ...BANG!!!...give the muscles time to adjust .

6.Magnesium and vitamin c is another source for muscle wellness and function...an orange or two to start ones day if not a glass of orange juice is known to increase stamina .

As to the recurring ni**le in the shoulder... the traps, posterior deltoid and what i call mechanisms of the rotator cuff were worked on.

A session of acupuncture was recommended for further assistance of muscle relief, collagen reproduction and regeneration.

I trust this little share may assist others who are experiencing similar challenges and look forward to being of help to you too.

To those who have liked my page and post making reference to 12 free treatments per month, one per person, i have messaged directly via messenger ONLY. It is a legitimate offer.

As stated, i am looking to introduce and bring awareness to an alternate approach to health and wellness and strengthening ones immune system plus, as a sport therapist, assist with injuries and niggling aches and pains.
I am accredited and registered with over 20 years of experience.

Should you not be interested , silence speaks a thousand words.

BUT abuse WILL NOT be tolerated

We find ourselves in very trying times where, our physicality as well as our mental state of being is being pushed to the limits.
Circumstance beyond our control knows to play havoc with staying strong and healthy and maintaining an equilibrium in our personal space as well as in our workspace.

Fear and uncertainty aggravating tension, stress, anguish, pressure and fatigue...to name a few....leading to behavioural issues, emotional issues, bodily challenges, a build up of toxins affecting ones health...an overall ripple effect causing mayhem with ones immune system.

And thus, to look toward a lifestyle natural in application, a way and means , a therapy non-invasive and non-intrusive, suitable for all ages to be a path forward in addressing and sustaining a balanced relationship between mind and body and an immune system in check as much as possible.

And for the sport person...maximising ones strength and capability through detoxing, muscle therapy and balancing, is always the goal.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
