The things we are averse to, those elements of life we avoid, are pointing to the parts of ourselves we are not wanting to see.
When this happens we are living unconsciously. When we are unconscious we will act automatically. Without being aware, we may become stuck in reactive loops.

To live authentically, we need to be living consciously- with mindfulness and awareness. Even though it may be uncomfortable, take time to consider the things in life you are avoiding. List them down and begin facing them one by one. As the anxiety around each element reduces, your confidence and resilience around each will develop. And you will be living with consciousness.

However, recognising what we need and being able to express it, is key for our mental wellbeing.

Relationships are mirrors for our own shame, hurt and avoidance. If you find yourself constantly trying to change someone else or blame someone else, there is probably traits in them you don’t want to see in yourself.

Instead of spending all your time and energy on blaming or taming the other, rather ask yourself : what am I avoiding in myself? What trait do I see in them that I don’t want to have in me?

Relationship mirrors are great opportunities for growth and awareness.
