Your brain controls everything… but are you taking care of it?

This Brain Awareness Month is a reminder that your brain is not just responsible for thinking and memory, but also movement, posture, and how your body functions every day.

What many people don’t realise is that simple daily habits can have a powerful impact on brain health. Movement improves blood flow to the brain, supports memory, and can even reduce the risk of cognitive decline.

At Vitae Equilibre, we focus on restoring optimal function between the brain and body. When this connection improves, so does your ability to move, think clearly, and feel your best.

Small changes make a big difference:
Regular movement
Quality sleep
Stress management
Staying mentally active

Your brain is with you for life. Start investing in it today.

Back pain isn’t always just muscle.

Nerve compression is one of the most common causes — and it can lead to burning pain, tingling, numbness, and weakness.

When a nerve is under pressure, it affects blood flow, oxygen, and healing. If the compression isn’t relieved, recovery can’t begin properly.

Understanding the cause is the first step to real recovery.

Your posture could be causing your back pain

Simple daily positions can put more pressure on your spine than you think.

• Sitting increases disc pressure
• Leaning forward makes it worse
• Adding weight creates the highest strain

It’s not always injury causing pain — often it’s how you sit, stand and move every day.

Small changes in posture can make a big difference.

Anxiety after spinal surgery is more common than you think — but hardly ever talked about.
It’s not just your body that goes through trauma… your entire nervous system does too. As your nerves heal, they can send confusing signals to the brain, triggering feelings of anxiety, panic, and emotional instability.
Understanding this connection is the first step toward recovery — not just physically, but mentally as well.

What actually happens when a nerve in your spine is compressed?

Nerve compression is one of the most common causes of back pain. When a nerve is under pressure, it can reduce blood flow, cause inflammation, and even lead to nerve damage.

If the compression isn’t relieved, the nerve cannot heal. But once the pressure is removed, the body can begin the slow process of nerve regeneration.

In this video, Dr Deon Lamprecht explains what happens inside the nerve, why symptoms occur, and how recovery works.
