Lower back pain is a leading cause of disability worldwide.

Some causes of lower back pain:
- Strain or injury to muscles or tendons of back
- Structural problems (kyphosis, lordosis, scoliosis)
- Medical conditions (arthritis, spondylitis)
- Standing or sitting for long periods of time
- Over-stretching
- Using a computer

How to keep your back healthy and strong?

Muscle slings refers to a group of muscles that work together to produce a movement and provide stability, particularly across the torso and pelvis.
These muscle groups form “slings/chains” of muscles that connect different parts of the body - to facilitate force transfer, balance, and coordination.

There are 4 key muscle slings:
1. Anterior oblique sling
2. Posterior oblique sling
3. Lateral sling
4. Deep longitudinal sling

These slings allow the body to function efficiently. They provide a crucial role in injury prevention and rehabilitation, as weakness or imbalances within these slings can lead to dysfunction or pain.

Lifestyle plays an important role in treating blood pressure.
Controlling blood pressure through a healthy lifestyle may help prevent, delay, or reduce the need for medication.
Regular physical activity can lower blood pressure by about 5-8 mmHg, by reducing blood vessel stiffness so blood can flow more easily. Exercise can help recent elevated blood pressure from turning into hypertension.

Types of exercise to help reduce hypertension:
- Aerobic exercise: walking, running, jogging, cycling, swimming, HIIT
- Strength training: aim for 2 strength sessions per week
It is important to monitor and control your blood pressure, and this can be done through at home monitoring or regular check-ups

Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain, caused by inflammation of the plantar fascia.
The plantar fascia is a thick band of tissue that runs under the foot, connecting the heel to the toes.
Inflammation typically results from repetitive stress or strain, leading to small tears in the fascia.

Common signs and symptoms:
- Sharp heel pain (particularly during first steps in the morning / after long periods of rest
- Pain that gets worse when standing or walking or long periods
- Swelling or tenderness at the heel
- Stiffness (especially in the morning and after sitting for long periods)

Common causes:
- Overuse or prolonged pressure on feet
- Tight calf muscles or Achilles tendon
- Flat feet or high arches (this causes change in foot mechanics)
- Obesity or sudden weight gain
