Bible Basics 📖 How can I share my faith?

Entering into a personal, powerful relationship with God is but the first step of being a Christian and leading a Christian life. The next step is sharing the truth of Christ's death and resurrection with others. Sharing Christianity with others gives them the joyful opportunity to join with God and enter into a true and meaningful relationship with His Son. God calls all His children to share the Good News with all mankind. Much of sharing your faith with others comes not only through your words but also through your moral example.

1. Defend your faith with gentleness and respect; be careful not to try to force your beliefs on others. (Phil. 1:7; 1 Pet. 3:15)

2. Shine your "light" to the world; lead by example and show God's love through your actions. (Matt. 5:14-16; 1 Pet. 2:12)

3. Faithfully tell others about Jesus - "sow the seed" - even if they don't respond; God is the one who works in their hearts. (Matt. 13:3-23; Mark 4:26-29)

4. Share your own personal testimony, how you came to faith in Jesus. (Acts 22; 26)

5. Be prepared through prayer and careful study of God's Word - you never know when an opportunity will present itself to share your faith. (Eph. 6:19; 1 Pet. 3:15)

6. Don't be ashamed of your faith; make the most of every opportunity to boldly tell others about the gospel. (Acts 28:31; Rom. 1:14-16; Col. 4:2-6; 2 Tim. 1:8-12)

Bible Basics 📖 Week 7

This is our final week... I truly hope that you have enjoyed this series so far and that you could learn something and take something with you from the Word of God 🙏🏼 Always feel free to reach out 💖

What is God's plan for salvation?

Adam and Eve's disobedience to God condemned the world to sin, brokenness, and death. Because of sin, humanity's relationship with God was severed. But in His love, God provided a way - the only way - to reconcile sinful people to Himself. Jesus endured the punishment for humanity's sin by dying on the cross. Through His death and resurrection, He conquered the power of sin and death so that people could receive forgiveness for sin and have life with God for eternity. Salvation is a gift from God for all who choose ro receibe it and commit to following Him. Faith in Christ - not belonging to a church or doing good works - is the only requirement for salvation.

Bible Basics 📖 Are we going to be judged?

The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ will return to this earth in the end times to make the kingdom of God complete here on earth. Some Christians believe that Christ will come and rapture His church away from the coming tribulation. Others believe that Christ will return and establish a new world order. Others bring different angles to this truth. While God has left some of the details of Jesus' return as a mystery, all Christians agree that Jesus Christ will come in glory once more. And while none of us knows when this day will come, we would be wise to live as if tomorrow we will be held accountable for our actions. God takes note of what we do and don't do while on earth, and He will judge or reward us accordingly.

JUDGEMENTS:

* ETERNAL JUDGEMENT IN HELL (Rev. 20:11-15)
Those who refuse to follow Christ, whose names are not listed in "the Book of Life," will find themselves destined to an eternity of separation from God in hell.

* THE BELIEVER'S JUDGEMENT (1 Cor. 3:10-15; Heb. 12:4-11)
While those of us who put our faith in Jesus escape eternal judgement, we are still accountable for our lives and time on earth. The salvation we receive does not give us a free pass to live any way we like. The purifying fire of God's power will make clear which of us have done our best in this lifetime and which of us have not.

REWARDS:

* ETERNAL LIFE IN HEAVEN (1 John 2:17; Rev. 3:5; 21:27)
Those who have trusted in Christ for salvation, whose names are written in "the Book of Life," will find that our sins are forgiven and our heavenly position is secure. The material world - along with temptations, sufferings and desires of the world - will pass away.

* THE BELIEVER'S REWARDS (2 Cor. 5:9, 10; Eph. 6:8; Col. 3:22-25)
Heavenly rewards await those who remain faithful and obedient to God. God is a loving Father who keeps track of all the times we've represented Him well - by helping people in need and sharing the gospel.

* THE CROWN OF LIFE (James 1:12; Rev. 2:10)
We are called in this life to stand strong with the Holy Spirit, withstanding our tendency to sin. It is only by surrendering to the power of the Holy Spirit that we can learn to fully love God and participate in God's promises of eternal life. Those of us who suffer and persevere in difficult circumstances will receive the crown of life for our faithfulness to Christ.

Bible Basics 📖 Week 6: What is Faith?

Faith is one of the central parts of our relationship with God. Faith in God is tested daily by terrible news stories, personal troubles, and the human failings of family and friends, yet the more we live by our faith, the better we can make our way in the world by trusting in God and His ultimate plan for the human race.

COMPONENTS OF FAITH IN GOD:

1. Belief in the existence of God and His unseen kingdom. (Heb. 11)
* HOPE - We can look forward to a world beyond this one where we will live in peace with God forever.
* ACTION - If we truly believe there is more to life than what can be seen, our faith will drive our values and actions to align with our beliefs.

2. Belief that the world and everything in it is part of God's plan and under His control. (Matt. 17:20; John 1:3)
* MEANING TO LIFE - We know that everything that happens to us is for a purpose and is part of a greater plan.
* POWER - Even the smallest amount of faith can change our lives and help us through times of trouble.

3. Belief in the Bible as the objective Word of God. (Ps. 33:4; Rom. 10:17)
* GUIDANCE - The Bible provides guidance for living every day by faith.
* APPROVAL - God is pleased when we grow in our faith and knowledge of Him by reading the Bible.

Feeling Overlooked? Remember David... 👑
Have you ever felt overlooked? Forgotten when everyone else was busy living their lives, having fun, while you were sitting on the side, unseen. Never given a chance to show people what is truly inside of you… But thinking they are most probably not even interested.
When we look at the story of David, it's clear he must also have felt this way when Samuel came to anoint the next king of Israel, even though he wasn't invited. His father, Jesse, proudly paraded his seven sons before Samuel - tall, strong, impressive men who looked like what people imagined a king should be.
Surely one of them must be God’s chosen one.
But one by one, God rejected them all in 1 Samuel 16:7: “The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
When Samuel asked Jesse if that was all his sons, almost as an afterthought, he mentioned David, the youngest, tending the sheep. But God spoke the moment David arrived: “Rise and anoint him; this is the one.” (1 Samuel 16:12)
His family saw him as the shepherd boy; God saw a heart after His own heart. The youngest, smallest, overlooked by his own family, was the chosen one by God Himself to lead a nation. The oil was poured over David's head, and the Holy Spirit was upon him all the days of his life.
You might feel like David - that all the years of “tending sheep” are wasted time. No good for anything. Not needed by anyone.
But as with David, whatever job or situation you are in, or have been in for years, is not wasted time at all - it is all preparation. Trusting God in the small, insignificant things prepares you for leading armies. God develops leaders in hidden places before placing them on public platforms.
God is looking at hearts, not appearances, not statuses, not positions, or fame. What seems like insignificant preparation in your life is exactly what God is using to ready you for His purpose.
The potential God saw in an overlooked shepherd boy, He sees in you, too.
God's Kingdom often begins in the most unlikely places, with the most unlikely people...
What is He calling you to today? Take that leap of faith 👑🙏🏼

Bible Basics 📖 What is Prayer? 🙏🏼

The sacrifice of Jesus Christ has made a true and meaningful connection with God possible for everyone. God invites the followers of Christ to boldly approach Him with their praises, thoughts, needs, hurts, hopes, and requests.

PURPOSE OF PRAYER - (Eph. 1:5-6, 11-12, 3:12; Heb. 10:19-22)
- Worship God for who He is and thank Him for what He has done.
- Cultivate a personal relationship with God.
- Make requests and ask for guidance.
- Express faith in God.
- Repent and receive forgiveness.

HOW TO PRAY - (Matt. 5:43-45, 6:9-13; James 5:16; 1 John 5:14)
- Follow Jesus' example: honor & acknowledge God before making any requests.
- Exude an attitude of love and mercy towards others.
- Approach God with confidence.

HINDRANCES TO PRAYER - (Mark 11:24-25; James 1:6, 4:3, 5:16)
- Harbor hatred and anger toward others.
- Neglect to confess any sin.
- Doubt that prayers will be answered.
- Ask with wrong motives.

GOD'S RESPONSE TO PRAYER - (Gen. 25:21; 1 Pet. 3:12; 1 John 5:14)
- Listens to the prayers of His people.
- Answers those who trust Him and ask according to His will.

Matthew 7:7-8

A - S - K Ask, Seek, Knock
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
