Sciatica - a real pain in the ....!

It is fairly common to see clients come to me with a from the lower back that runs down either leg and in rate cases both legs.
This is a classical case of . The sciatic nerve is the longest nerve in the body that runs from the lower back to the tips of your toes.
It is fairly common to see this issue come up at times of injuries or in the cases of women, during the last trimester of pregnancy.

Main reason for injuries is lifting heavy objects without bending the knees. This usually causes a disc to slip out of place resulting in excruciating pain that localises in the lower back and then shooting pain that travels through the buttock and down the leg. This is usually accompanied by tightening of the lower back and leg muscles.
Standing for too long is not possible and unfortunately neither is sitting. Finding a comfortable resting position can be an extreme challenge.

The classical way of dealing with this condition is pain killers, walking with a crutch, gentle stretch exercises along with scans and X-rays.
The general time given for recovery can be from two weeks to six months in some cases. In others it's decades where the person involved learns to live with the pain.

Most that have experienced this will know exactly what I'm talking about.

I had a client come to me with severe sciatic pain. His doctor had referred him for MRI scans and sent him home with pain killers and advise of rest.

I began my session with the client by sending energy into his hips and allowing them to realign naturally. This began to reduce the intensity of the pain and then became localised in the lower back extending out to the right hand side. Then the pain shot down the leg through the buttock.
I continued to "follow" the pain by directing the energy to where the client said it was moving. After an hour the client felt 60% better.
The following day we had another session. The pain had increased slightly but no where near the intensity when I first saw him the previous day. He could walk unaided, albeit at a slower pace. This second session helped to ease the muscle stiffness and soreness further.
After the third session, much of the clients mobility had returned. He was able to return to work and pain was now dull.

The power of natural energy healing never ceases to amaze me.

If you or anyone you know suffering from sciatic pain (or any other trapped nerve problem) please get in touch to discuss a way to get you mobile again.

Rose hips from the rugosa rose plant are an exceptional healing fruit that grow abundantly in the wild and in home gardens. They are packed with Vitamin C, E, & K and are used to help prevent and treat infections such as bladder, kidney, respiratory, and sinus infections as well as colds and flus. Rose hips aid in reducing inflammation associated with auto-immune conditions such as arthritis and fibromyalgia. They also ease the digestive tract, provide a laxative effect on the colon, and help to prevent fluid retention and bloating. Rose hips have also been to known to prevent dizziness and the effects of vertigo. Rose hips have an affinity for women’s reproductive health aiding in regulating menstrual flow, easing uterine cramps, and preventing breast disorders. They help to purify and nourish the blood and lymphatic system which aids in preventing stress related illnesses. They are wonderful for strengthening the circulatory, respiratory, and digestive system. Rose hips also support the thymus gland which is a specialized organ that helps your immune system to function optimally. If you happen to be fortunate enough to have a rugosa rose plant growing near where you live, wait until the rose hips are soft to the touch before harvesting. They can be eaten fresh or dried for later use. Avoid the seeds by eating around the center or straining through a sieve. Dried cut and sifted rose hips are readily available in health foods stores in bulk. Rose hip tea is a delicious way to incorporate this healing fruit into your daily routine. Use 1 tsp dried rose hips per 1 cup of water and steep for 10 minutes.
