When someone has a cardiac arrest, every second counts. The quicker someone steps in to help, the greater their chance of surviving.

But only 35% of people say they would feel confident stepping in during an emergency like this.

That’s why building public confidence and increasing CPR knowledge is so important. The more people who feel prepared to help, the more lives we can save together.

Cure Somerset West has proudly donated four Vital Sign Monitors to the Betty’s Bay Emergency Support Team (BEST).

BEST is a dedicated volunteer first responder service, providing critical, immediate care during life-threatening emergencies while awaiting the arrival of professional medical services.

As a fully community-driven and donation-funded organisation, support like this plays a vital role in enabling BEST to continue their life-saving work. Thank you for helping us support the local heroes who make a difference every day. 💙

Wow, what a wonderful way to kick off the new year!

Our team is very fortunate to be the very lucky recipient of 4 donated patient monitors from Dr Cornelius von der Heyden, from Cure Day Hospitals.

These much needed patient monitors are essential during medical emergencies to monitor patient vital signs and will replace our trusty old monitor which has served our community for a long time!

As the festive season approaches and 2025 draws to a close, our team of volunteers would like to thank the community of Betty’s Bay for your continued support.

Every year at this time, the team takes a short break to spend time with family, rest and recharge after the busy year.

We’ll be taking a break from 15 December to 4 January - back in action from 5 January 2026.

Always a joy to be on standby to assist at Betty's Bay parkrun 🏃‍♀️ 🏃🏼‍♂️ 🏃🏻 Sometimes we even get to do a bit of running if we need to respond to an urgent injury on the route 🤣🤣
