Day 4: Governance, Policy & Mission Alignment.

From presidential leadership to tax strategy, legal exposure, HR governance, systems integrity and risk registers, today was about governing with clarity in complex times.
• We tackled tax management and the line we must never cross.
• We confronted legal exposure and its real consequences.
• We unpacked HR governance, due process and working policy in complex situations.
• We built institution-specific risk registers and assessed both internal and external threats.
• We strengthened emotional resilience, built to bend, not break.
• We also aligned systems, compliance and mission.

And when governance, policy and mission align, trust is protected and the future is strengthened.

Day 3: From Risk Awareness to Risk Mastery
Today we confronted the digital battlefield of cybersecurity, unpacked the anatomy of audit risk and financial statement assertions, and addressed the elephant in the finance room, the real financial pain points we often avoid.
We strengthened our understanding of internal controls, refined risk registers and explored how emotional intelligence sustains leaders under pressure.

Because risk is not managed by policy alone, it is managed by disciplined, self-aware professionals.

Day 2: Risk, Governance and Professional Discipline

Today we tackled real leadership, navigating difficult people with emotional intelligence, clarifying our roles and responsibilities, strengthening psychological safety in the workplace, planning wisely for retirement and pension risk, and identifying fraud exposure before it becomes crisis.
Leadership is not position alone, it is a mindset shift, self awareness and risk consciousness.

SAU Annual Treasurers Summit Day 1-Delving into the Foundations of Systems, People and Financial Stewardship

Why This Matters
Every organisation eventually reflects its foundation:

Day 1 was asking the pertinent questions:
• Are our systems protecting the mission?
• Are our skills still relevant or becoming outdated and obsolete?
• Are we developing impactful stewards or reactive book-keepers?
• Are we managing our emotions effectively and strategically?

got us here, EQ will sustain us!
