30 seconds to reset your nervous system?
I used to roll my eyes at that too… until I learned the biology behind it.

When we’re stressed, rushed, or overwhelmed, our body flips into “fight or flight” mode. The brain doesn’t know the difference between a real threat and a tight deadline—it just reacts.

So why does 30 seconds matter?

Because scent is powerful. Our sense of smell is the only one directly wired to the limbic system—the part of the brain that controls emotions and memory. That means when you inhale a pure essential oil, your brain gets the “calm down” signal almost instantly.

Here’s what I reach for when I feel like I’m spiraling:

✨ Balance – My grounding blend. It reminds me to stay centered, no matter what the day throws at me.
✨ Adaptive – My go-to during high-stress days. It helps me shift from “I’m drowning” to “I’ve got this.” Sometimes I add lemon or rosemary for extra focus.
✨ Lavender – Not just for sleep! One drop in my palms + a few deep breaths = instant reset after a tough convo or chaotic moment.

I don’t wait for burnout anymore. I take 30-second “micro-breaks” right in the middle of the madness.

I recently revisited a powerful video by Dr. Josh Axe titled “Top 10 Dangers of Essential Oils”, and I highly recommend giving it a watch—especially if you or someone you love is using essential oils from grocery stores or online marketplaces.

🧠 Around the 3-minute mark, Dr. Axe highlights Mistake #3: Ingesting Poor-Quality Oils. He explains how ingesting essential oils that are not rigorously tested for purity and potency can lead to hormonal imbalances, neurological issues, and even toxicity. This is especially concerning for people with existing health conditions.

💡 While Dr. Axe doesn’t mention specific brands like doTERRA by name (likely due to professional neutrality as a doctor), he clearly outlines the exact quality standards that doTERRA adheres to:
- Third-party testing (including GC/MS)
- Sourcing from trusted growers
- No synthetic fillers or contaminants
- Transparency in purity and sourcing

These are the very reasons I trust and use doTERRA oils. Yes, they may seem more expensive at first glance—but when it comes to your health, quality is non-negotiable. A cheaper oil that hasn’t been tested for internal use can do far more harm than good.
