🩺 Skin lesion treatment depends on the diagnosis
Not every skin lesion needs surgery.
Treatment is chosen based on the type, size, location, and risk.
Possible options include:
🔹 Excision (minor surgery)
Used for suspicious or confirmed skin cancers and lesions needing histology.
🔹 Cryotherapy (freezing)
Often used for:
• Warts
• Actinic keratoses
• Benign sun-damaged lesions
🔹 Topical treatments (e.g. imiquimod, retinoids)
Used in selected cases for:
• Superficial lesions
• Early sun damage
• Certain pre-cancerous changes
🔹 Chemical treatments (e.g. glycolic acid)
Sometimes used for:
• Sun-damaged skin
• Texture and pigment changes
• Selected benign lesions
There is no single “best” treatment — the right option depends on proper assessment first.
If you’re concerned about a skin lesion, a medical evaluation helps guide safe and appropriate care.
