Getting dressed can sometimes be challenging for individuals with limited upper limb strength or mobility. An upper limb dressing routine using a resistance band (TheraBand) can help improve strength, coordination, and functional movement needed for everyday activities like putting on a shirt or jacket.

By practicing controlled pulling and reaching movements, patients can strengthen the shoulders, arms, and grip while simulating real-life dressing motions. Small, consistent exercises like these can make daily tasks easier and promote greater independence.

Occupational therapy focuses on turning exercise into meaningful function, helping individuals regain confidence in their daily routines.

Seizures can be frightening to witness — but knowing what to do can save a life.

Stay calm.
Turn them onto their side.
Check the mouth for any visible obstruction (never force anything inside).
Do not hold them down.
Time the seizure.

Call emergency services if it lasts longer than 5 minutes, it’s their first seizure, or they’re not breathing afterward.

Your calm response makes all the difference. đź’š

Epilepsy & Occupational Therapy đź’ś

Living with epilepsy can affect more than just seizures — it can impact independence, confidence, work, school, and daily routines.

Occupational therapy focuses on helping individuals live safely and meaningfully by:

✨ Building structured daily routines
✨ Identifying seizure triggers
✨ Improving cognitive skills (memory, attention, problem-solving)
✨ Adapting environments for safety
✨ Supporting return to work or school

Epilepsy doesn’t define ability — with the right strategies and support, participation and independence are possible.

If you or a loved one is navigating life with epilepsy, occupational therapy can help you live well, safely, and confidently.

🧠✨ Strengthening memory one shape at a time!

In this occupational therapy session, we’re working on visual memory, attention, and spatial awareness using a simple shape-building activity. First, the client studies the image… then it disappears! The challenge? Rebuild it from memory.

Activities like this help support everyday skills such as following directions, organizing tasks, and improving focus.

Small exercises. Big progress. đź’›

Cancer recovery isn’t just physical — it’s cognitive too. 🧠✨

After treatment, many individuals experience challenges with memory, attention, processing speed, and mental fatigue (often called “chemo brain”).

At SMM, we help clients rebuild cognitive skills so they can return to work, manage daily tasks, stay organized, and feel confident in their routines again.

Through personalized strategies, brain-training activities, energy conservation techniques, and real-life task practice, we support meaningful recovery — not just survival, but independence.

Recovery is about regaining your life, one skill at a time. đź’›

🧠 As Occupational Therapists, we focus on:
• Conserving energy and building endurance safely
• Improving mobility for everyday tasks
• Adapting self-care activities to promote independence
• Supporting confidence and quality of life

Small, meaningful goals can make daily activities possible again.

Cancer treatment can change how everyday tasks feel — and that’s where Occupational Therapy steps in 💚

OT supports people living with cancer by helping them dress independently, adapt clothing routines, and use energy conservation strategies to reduce fatigue. Small changes like pacing, positioning, and simplifying tasks can make a big difference in confidence and daily comfort.

Because cancer care isn’t just about treatment — it’s about living well, every day. 🎗️
