None of the work done at the P2WS Centre is to replace medical or psychiatric advice neither any form of medical treatment. The centre stands firmly under the umbrella of being complementary and not alternative. The centre wants to work hand-in-hand with your medical provider and psychologist. At the centre, the physical body is addressed. Releasing stored tension/stress from the muscle structure,
that might be the reason for pain and discomfort in your body. Also, the autonomic nervous system (ANS) is addressed by activating a natural tremor mechanism in your body, helping your body to work through trauma neurologically. Three techniques are being used at the centre.
1) Body Stress Release (BSR):
Body Stress Release is a proudly South African technique founded by the Cape Town couple,
Drs Ewald and Gail Meggersee. With BSR, the whole body is being addressed as a unit. Identifying where locked-up tension is stored and is being
released in a gentle, non-invasive manner.
2) Emmett Technique:
Developed in Australie, Ros Emmett brings a new fresh approach to bodywork. With a gentle touch (time and
pressure specific) or a move called a switch on certain points on the body, the muscles and the fascia are
released of stored tension. Using particular sequences, the focus is moving to the body's lymphatic system,
helping the client to drain the lymphatics in a gentle, non-invasive approach.
3) Tension/Trauma Release Exercises (TRE):
As an American working in war zones, Dr David Bercelli realised that the natural response the body has to
trauma, is to tremor. Creating seven easy-to-follow exercises, the brainstem of the client is activated, allowing the body to go into
a fight/flight response. This will trigger a tremor which is a neurological response. This neurological tremor will
release stored trauma patterns in the body. All three of these techniques are stand-alone, therefor sessions are booked technique specific.
