OVERHEAD MOBILITY ROUTINE 🔥✨

Tight shoulders? Struggling to lock out overhead? These 3 drills build better thoracic extension, stronger scapular stabilisers, and smooth overhead control — perfect for lifting, CrossFit and daily posture.

Use slow, controlled reps. Quality first.

1️⃣ Prone Y to W

Lie on your stomach, arms overhead in a Y-shape. Lift your arms slightly off the floor, then pull elbows into a W by squeezing your shoulder blades down and back.
Think: long neck, ribs down, elbows to pockets.

2️⃣ Band External Rotation at Shoulder Height

Anchor the band at shoulder height. Stand side-on, elbow bent at 90° and lifted in line with your shoulder. Rotate your hand backward while keeping the elbow level and the shoulder blade set.
Focus: no shrugging, no trunk twist — just pure shoulder rotation.

3️⃣ Deep Squat Wall Angels

Sit into a deep squat with your back against the wall. Keep ribs down and low back touching the wall. Slowly slide your arms up and down like snow angels while maintaining contact.
Goal: thoracic extension + shoulder mobility + overhead control.

✨ Perfect before overhead lifting days or as part of your mobility routine.

Why Progression Matters💪

Progression in exercise isn’t about ego. It’s about physiology.
When we gradually increase load or complexity, the body adapts through mechanical and neurological remodelling.
Muscles respond by increasing fiber size and recruitment efficiency. Tendons and ligaments strengthen through collagen synthesis and improved load tolerance. Even the nervous system refines coordination and motor control with every new challenge.

Without progression, the body simply maintains its current capacity, no new strength, no resilience, no true recovery. But with strategic, evidence-based progression, we stimulate adaptation that rebuilds stronger, more functional tissue.

That’s why in both rehab and performance, the principle remains the same:
👉 Progressive overload = Adaptation = Long-term improvement.
