Eating disorders are complex mental health conditions. They are not defined by appearance, and they do not only affect people who look underweight.

Someone may be struggling even if their eating habits seem normal to others, or if their body does not fit common stereotypes.

Because of these misconceptions, many individuals delay seeking support or feel that their struggles are not serious enough.
