Concussion? Rest first, but don’t stay still for long.
There’s a better way to recover.

Whether it’s from sport, a fall, or something else, don’t ignore it, and don’t go straight back to normal either.

Here’s what to do:
✔ Short-term rest is important, especially for the first 48 hours
✔ Total shutdown (dark room, no stimulation) isn’t helpful
✔ Gentle movement and light thinking tasks can actually support healing
✔ No contact sport until you’re cleared
✔ And if symptoms like brain fog, dizziness, or headaches linger, don’t wait to get help

Recovery isn’t just about waiting. It’s about returning to activity safely and step by step with support where you need it.🤝

At Wolmarans Physiotherapy, we’re passionate about staying up to date with the latest techniques to better serve our athletes and patients.

That’s why we were so proud to support and take part in the International Strapping Course hosted at Saint Andrew’s School this past week.

Across two inspiring days, we had the chance to deepen our understanding of functional taping techniques and sport-specific applications, all led by the incredibly knowledgeable Colin Hill.

A big thank you to Colin for your energy and expertise, and to HiTech Therapy and JD Beetge for making this valuable learning opportunity possible.

Here’s to continually raising the standard of care for every athlete we work with! 💪
