Patient information
Infection:
Winter months are characterized by virus infections. Usually it’s the influenza viruses that are in the Northern hemisphere, which causes outbreaks here. Infections can broadly be divided in local or whole body infections e.g.
-Local such as tooth-, skin abscess or fungus.
-Whole body (systematic) such as influenza, malaria, lung and
liver (e.g gall bladder)
Current flu symptoms:
• Severe headaches, lightheadedness and light sensitivity
• Severe fever of up to 40 degrees Celsius
• Body aches and general fatigue
• Pulse rate is increased with severe sore throat and an
aching cough
All these symptoms may vary in grade particularly nausea and even vomiting
There are currently several viruses and some patients get ill again, that makes treatment and diagnosis very difficult. If someone is ill, rather request a medical doctor to examine the person to eliminate other causes of infection.
Hope this information helps to keep your family’s health first
