What changed when you stopped focusing on the injury and started looking at the whole system?šŸ’”
Movement quality, load tolerance, recovery, and context all matter. When rehab goes beyond the sore spot, outcomes improve and setbacks drop šŸ”

Rehab doesn’t fail because loading is hard it fails when progression stops šŸ”šŸ’Ŗ
Staying ā€œsafeā€ for too long limits adaptation and delays real readiness. Progression is where strength, confidence, and resilience are built šŸ”„

If the load isn’t moving forward, recovery isn’t either. Train to progress, not to pause šŸš€

Pain isn’t always the problem, it’s the signal.
More often than not, recurring injuries come from load that doesn’t match capacity.
When we adjust how and how much someone is loading, things start to change, fast. Rehab isn’t about avoiding stress, it’s about building tolerance the smart way .

Passing tests doesn’t always mean ready for sport šŸ§ŖāŒ
Strength scores can look great, but real readiness is about how well the body tolerates chaos, fatigue, and speed. Rehab should prepare athletes for sport, not just the test battery šŸ”šŸ’Ŗ

Instability isn’t the enemy, lack of preparation is šŸŽ¾āš”
Sport is unpredictable, fast, and demanding. When athletes are exposed to the right loads at the right time, the body adapts and performs with confidence šŸ”„

Evidence matters… but how you use it matters way more šŸ”šŸ’Ŗ
Anyone can quote research, real results come from applying it the right way in real rehab settings. Smart loading, better decisions, stronger comebacks šŸ”šŸ”„

When can they safely return to play? Don’t rely on guesswork, let data lead the way. Evidence-based decision-making frameworks empower practitioners to make confident return-to-play calls, improving performance outcomes while significantly reducing the risk of re-injury. Because smarter decisions protect athletes and extend careers.

Load is a clinical tool.
Prescribe it.
Progress it.
Don’t fear it.

Rehab isn’t about avoiding stress, it’s about applying the right stress at the right time for the right outcome.

When load is dosed with intent, it becomes the driver of adaptation, confidence, and durable return to performance.

This is how modern rehab is done.
This is TRIPP and you can get your CPD Points at www.tripp.co.za

REST DIDN’T FIX IT.
MOVEMENT DID.

Rehab isn’t about stopping.
It’s about progressing, intelligently, intentionally, and under load.

Pain doesn’t disappear because athletes do less.
It resolves when they restore capacity, confidence, and control.

Learn how to progress movement safely and effectively in our TRIPP content.

15/12/2025

Back injuries spike in December because people lift, twist, and reach in awkward positions after long periods of sitting, travelling, or general fatigue. Add rushed holiday timelines and poor load planning, and the lumbar spine becomes the victim of compensations rather than controlled movement. The best prevention strategy is simple: break tasks into smaller bouts, keep loads close to the body, avoid twisting under load, and slow down, because most December back injuries happen when people try to do too much, too quickly.
