100 days to smile

Count your blessings.

Many a time, we focus on all that is missing in our lives and fail to see the wonders bestowed upon us.

Treasure your parents as others have had theirs taken away.

Nurture your children as many are separated.

Hold dear your spouses as others have left theirs.

Be comfortable in your homes as many sleep under the skies.

Keep a clear mind, as without it, life is a cycle of terror.

By focusing on what has been lost, we fail to see all that we have.

Compare yourself only to those who have less than you, and feel your heart soften.

Appreciate every blessing and feel them increase.

There is a weird goodness that follows your rock bottom.

Life humbles you.

You will accept, realise, and understand the reasons for your current position.

Find the courage to rebuild, and contentment will fill your every improvement.

In every step, you will see God's mercy showering upon you.

As time passes, you will forget that which has been lost and be thankful in both difficulty and ease.

Your understanding of life will know that destiny requires ups and downs, as life requires gratefulness throughout.

100 days to smile

Be very careful when looking back at your life.

Be objective and gentle on yourself.

The world is not always easy.

We faulter, we fail, we end up in unimaginable places, and do things beyond reason.

Intoxicants bring along with it a state of delirium, that accompanies foul and reprehensible behaviour.

It turns your words into daggers.

Your thoughts encompass selfishness, and your focus is narrowed only to that which further inebriates you.

Your actions to others are self-serving, manipulative, and deceitful.

Clear your mind.

Clear your body.

Forgive yourself.

Take lessons from your past.

Frankly, you don't live there anymore.

Focus firmly on your present existence.

Nourish your soul with encouraging words.

Speak of that which is hearty and healthy.

Think on a pedestal of reformation.

Behave in a manner that emits smiles, laughter, and affection to all that surrounds you in order to dance in the plains of serenity inside you.

100 days to smile

There is only one provider.

There is only one sustainer.

There is only one protector.

There is only one nourisher.

In your darkest, most desperate hour.

When no one has any interest in your troubles.

When all trust in you is lost.

When you have become a danger to yourself, to everyone, and everything around you.

When you feel no escape.

When u want, with all your heart to be rid of the chains of addiction.

Look up.

Raise your hands.

Beg and plead, over and over again.

Shine your gaze towards the one, the only, the Lord.

Men may shun us, men may give up on us, but the Lords door never closes.

Our greatest freedom is not in following our desires but living in the will of the Lord.

He is everywhere.

Reach out.

100 days to smile

Time is a beautiful thing.

When used correctly, it can be abundantly blessed.

When appreciated, it will see your days pass with effortless ease.

It heals a broken heart.

It soothes aching pains.

It revitalises the body, it unclutters the mind, and it nutures the soul.

It is dangerous, destructive, hurtful, and shameful.

It all depends on the respect you show it.

Live, with patience through difficulty, and see the change approach.

Be forbearing through trauma, and the veils of tranquillity will be lifted.

Live hopefully when frustrated.

Live humbly in confrontations.

Remain soft in the face of hate and find love, warmth and and miracles surrounding you.

Do not abuse or ignore your behaviour through time.

It returns the attitude you approach it with.

Endure, persevere, and persist, knowing that remaining steadfast through the harseshest of times will bring lasting serenity into your best of times.

Awareness is knowledge.

Awareness is freedom.

Awareness is life.

By being aware of your surroundings, will you be able to identify your triggers.

By being aware of your emotions, will you be able to react in an appropriate way.

By being aware of your inner self, will you be able to grow your confidence.

Spend time in seclusion, listen to your thoughts, work through your past, and set goals for your future.

Listen to your body and protect your health.

Speak to God, declvelop a relationship of asking of everything that you need.

Only when you are conscious of your being will it be clear to see the efforts you need to make.

By taking the creator of the solution into your manifestations, you will find your mind becoming clear, your troubles minimising, your struggles easing, your ways improving, and your life flourishing.

Awareness is the cornerstone of greatness.

100 days to smile

There is no greater deceiver than anger.

Aptly named a deadly sin.

When your blood boils, when tensions rise, when resentments build, remain calm.

Take a step back, escape the situation, hold on to your words, and maintain your composure.

Anger begets more anger.

Raising your voice is reciprocated in foul response.

Violence is unbecoming and free from any worthy resolution.

Maintain your self-respect.

Focus on righteousness.

Dignify every situation with logic and reasoning.

Humble yourself for peace.

Without retaliation, no altercation is fuelled.

A life of gentleness is a life of sobriety.

When anger and hate enter your heart, when frustration and agony creep into your mind, see through its deceit, work through its elements and find, through warmth and encouragement, the beauty of inner strength and contentment.

100 days to smile

You are at the correct place, at the appointed time surrounded by those you are meant to be at this moment in your life.

Only when you are able to accept your present will you be able to determine your future.

Your past is just that, your past.

There is no going back, no joy in dwelling over missed opportunity, trauma, failure, and heartache.

When life passes, as you age, as the years go on, will you realise that every happening was destined to bring you to where you are.

In being conscious of this, will you find the removal of depression.

In appreciation of your surroundings, will you find the anxiety disappearing.

Be grateful for simple pleasures, be consistent in improving upon yourself, and be content with life.

It only happens once.

Enjoy it graciously.

100 days to smile

Nothing goes unnoticed.

I've learnt over the course of my years that all that I do determines all that I am.

All that I say has an impact on me, and on those around me.

The way I act outlays the actions of others towards me.

Sometimes, we feel and believe that there is no justice in the world.

We loathe in self-pity and dwell in negativity over the cards we are dealt.

There is wisdom in our destiny.

Every difficulty is coupled with a lesson.

Every hurdle, every obstacle, is an excuse to better ourselves and our world.

All it takes is a firm determination to remain focused in the face of life.

To try, to dig, to exert, to force, to climb and to claw your way back no matter the depth of the abyss you fall into.

Don't get trapped in the notion that you can't get out.

Hold on, be firm in enforcing new resolutions, and to always get up when you feel that you are beaten.

God sees, God hears, and most importantly, God delivers.

100 days to smile

Know that God is always watching.

Ever present, ever seeing, ever hearing ever loving.

Many a time, we wonder how we make it through seemingly impossible situations.

How through illness we found ourselves cured.

How, through accidents, we find ourselves unscathed.

How, through our own actions to destroy ourselves, we find survival and purpose.

Clear as light, God watches over us and shows His will.

Always ask yourself, what would God want.

When faced with a choice, see the right from the wrong, see, through God's eyes.

When speaking, divide truth from falsehood.

Practice God's will in all your affairs.

When your guidance comes from above, you'll find your life blessed from within.

100 days to smile

Some days are just hard to smile.

For many years, my parents wanted me to get better.

For many years, they tried everything and anything to help me.

Always supporting me, always loving me, always caring with all their hearts.

There was never a day that would pass where I did not feel their concern.

On visiting their grave sites last night, I, for the first time in a long time, spoke to them.

I spoke with pride in my sobriety, with pride in the obstacles I have overcome and with pride in the father I am becoming.

They have taught me far more than any book ever could.

In their example, I live, and in their dreams for me, I still see their blessings.

They showed that through undying love, miracles can happen,
even after death.

Today may have been sad, but I somehow still find myself smiling.

Addiction destroys everything.

The addict soon sees the strength of the body disappearing.

Negativity rules all thoughts.

Hope is lost.

Morality breaks down.

Severe sense of selfishness encompasses his entire being.

Every meaningful position, relation, and confidence will be broken.

Rebuilding only begins when the desperation filters through.

In becoming willing to honestly dissect every ill that surrounds you; a new seed is planted.

Block by block, your situation will change.

Work on your body, no matter how tough it may seem.

Shift your mindset, no matter how little motivation you have.

Believe in yourself when no one else does.

Straighten your moral compass.

Be considerate, mindful, patient, alert, and consistent in moulding a new sober you.

100 days to smile

Life has taught me that everything has consequences.

Own your mistakes and be willing to do whatever it takes to reform and make good.

The sooner you see the inadequacies inside you, the sooner you will be able to make meaningful change.

Deceit, dishonesty, malice, and greed can not be swept away.

That which you do in the darkest hours,
that which you hide in secret spots,
all that you try to get away with will always eventually show its face.

Life will give you a return on that which you put out.

The way you treat others will be the way you are treated.

Live as if someone is watching.

Speak as if everyone is listening.

Be a mirror to yourself and a beacon of light towards others.

Guide your ways with a measure of strict righteousness.

Remember God before all.

Ask his guidance.

Beg to be able to do His will.

Failure is real, to faulter likely.

Stand up again, try and persevere.

Rectify with remorse, repair with sincerity, and resolve with the intention never to return to the ways of your past.

Once your life is alligned to God, you will find trust in people and their trust in you.

Accept God's will and find contentment in sustenance, happiness from within, and a sense of pride and purpose that no human being can offer.
