Kathleen is the owner of Sr Kathleen’s Mother and Baby Unit and a Registered Nurse who specialised in midwifery. After many years of delivering babies in the Public as well as Private sector, I realised the need for a dedicated, passionate Midwife in the Ekurhuleni (East Rand) area. Due to the high demand, the practice has grown, and I am now assisted by Sr Juané Schreuder, who is also a Professional Nurse and Midwife, as well as two Birth Assistants and a General Practice Manager. We also provide the services of an on-sight Professional Sonographer and Baby Immunisation. I believe that every mommy-to-be deserves a safe, caring, loving environment with holistic ante natal care through labour and to have a peaceful birth. I ensure the best continuous care during and after labour. We can offer you a safe personalised birth that is still affordable, even if you don’t have medical aid. Clients with medical aid are also welcome as the practice is registered with medical aids.

My husband and I would love to give the biggest, most heartfelt shout out to Kathleen 🤍 I truly could not have asked for a more beautiful natural birth experience.

From the very beginning of my pregnancy, she was incredibly supportive... always checking in, always available, patiently answering every question, and gently educating me on what was happening in my body and what to expect. I never felt alone or unsure. I always felt safe, informed, and cared for.

During labour, she was calm, intentional, and so beautifully present. She made sure I understood everything that was happening, guided me when I needed guidance, and gave me space when I needed space, always watching over us with such wisdom and confidence. I felt completely safe in her care.

Kathleen doesn’t just “do” midwifery... she lives it. It’s who she is. Her passion for birth, her deep knowledge, and her steady presence create an environment where you feel empowered as a mother. She protects both mom and baby with such attentiveness and integrity. When you birth with her, you truly feel that you and your baby are her priority.

I can wholeheartedly say that choosing her was one of the best decisions we made. She helped bring our precious baby safely into this world, and gave me one of the most empowering and beautiful experiences of my life.

To any mother considering a natural birth... I cannot recommend her enough. If you want to feel supported, informed, respected, and safe… you are in the very best hands.
