From your youngest to your oldest, GP4Me Vredekloof is here for all of them.

Every family is made up of different people at different stages of life. A toddler with a fever. A teenager navigating a first sports injury. A parent managing a chronic condition. A grandparent who just needs someone who takes the time to listen. Each of them deserves care that feels personal, not rushed, not generic, but truly built around them.

That's exactly what Dr Marle le Roux has spent her career working towards.

With a background in both paediatric care and family medicine, Dr Le Roux is uniquely placed to care for your whole family under one roof. She understands the nuances of each life stage: the questions new parents have, the health milestones to watch for in growing children, and the preventive care that matters more as we get older.

At GP4Me, your family can expect:
πŸ”Ή Well-baby and childhood check-ups
πŸ”Ή Adolescent health and development
πŸ”Ή Adult and occupational health
πŸ”Ή Chronic condition management for all ages
πŸ”Ή Women's health and preventative screening

Stress is something we all know but we don’t always know what to do with it. πŸ’›

Three things that actually help:
- Breathe - slow it down. Four counts in, four counts hold, four counts out.
- Move - even 10 minutes. A walk, a stretch, anything.
- Talk to someone - a friend, family, or your GP. You don’t have to carry it alone.

Small steps. Real relief.

And if stress has become more than a bad week, we’re here. No judgement. Just care.

🌬️ This month, we celebrated World Asthma Day and it's a reminder that asthma care is something worth talking about all year round.

We wanted to take a moment to talk about something that affects many families right here in Vredekloof and across Cape Town. Asthma is one of the most common chronic respiratory conditions in South Africa. While it's very manageable with the right support, too many people are still living with it undiagnosed or without a proper plan in place.

That changes the moment you walk through our door.

What we offer at GP4Me Vredekloof:
πŸ”Ή Peak flow testing - a quick, in-practice test that measures how well air moves out of your lungs. It helps us track your condition and catch any changes early, before they become a problem.

πŸ”Ή Personalised chronic management - Dr Marle le Roux works with you to understand your triggers, review your medication, and put a plan in place that fits your life, not just a prescription.

It might be time to book a review if:
βœ” Your symptoms have become more frequent or severe
βœ” You're waking up at night with a tight chest or coughing
βœ” You're reaching for your reliever inhaler more than twice a week
βœ” You've visited an emergency room for breathing difficulties
βœ” It's been more than 12 months since your last asthma check-up

Asthma awareness doesn't stop after one day. And at GP4Me, your care doesn't either.

Today is World Hypertension Day.

High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, often shows no warning signs. Many people only discover it once complications have already developed.

It can increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, dementia and other serious health conditions.

The good news is that a simple blood pressure check can make a real difference.

Making sure your blood pressure is measured correctly is just as important as measuring it in the first place.

βœ” Sit with your back supported
βœ” Keep your legs uncrossed and feet flat
βœ” Rest your arm at heart level
βœ” Use the correct cuff size
βœ” Rest for at least 5 minutes before
βœ” Avoid talking during the reading
βœ” Avoid caffeine, smoking and exercise beforehand

Small steps like these can help ensure accurate readings and better care.

If you have not had your blood pressure checked recently, this is a good time to do so.

We are here to support you - Pop in for a quick blood pressure check

🩺 High blood pressure is known as the silent condition because most people who have it feel absolutely fine.

But your body does sometimes send signals. Here are 5 signs that are worth paying attention to:

1️⃣ Recurring headaches - especially in the morning or at the back of the head
2️⃣ Dizziness or lightheadedness - particularly when standing up suddenly
3️⃣ Blurred or changed vision - high blood pressure affects the vessels in your eyes
4️⃣ Shortness of breath - during activities that didn't used to be a problem
5️⃣ Persistent fatigue - tiredness that sleep doesn't seem to fix

None of these on their own confirms hypertension but together, or alongside a family history, they're your cue to get checked.

At GP4Me Vredekloof, a blood pressure assessment is simple, quick, and can tell you exactly where you stand. Dr Marle le Roux and the team are here to help you manage your health before it becomes a crisis, not after.

🩺 17 May is World Hypertension Day and it's a date worth paying attention to.

Hypertension is often called "the silent condition" and for good reason. It rarely causes obvious symptoms, yet it's one of the most significant risk factors for heart attack, stroke, and kidney disease. You can feel completely fine and still have dangerously high blood pressure.

Here in South Africa, more than 1 in 3 adults are estimated to have hypertension and studies suggest that nearly half of them don't even know it yet.

So what exactly is hypertension?
High blood pressure means your heart is working harder than it should to push blood through your arteries. Over time, that constant pressure damages blood vessels and organs; quietly, gradually, and without warning.

The good news? It's one of the most manageable chronic conditions when it's caught and treated early. A simple blood pressure check is all it takes to know where you stand.

At GP4Me Vredekloof, chronic condition management is at the heart of what we do. Whether you've already been diagnosed, have a family history, or simply haven't had a check-up in a while, we are here to assess your risk, explain your numbers, and put a plan in place that actually works for your life.

Because knowing is always better than wondering.

A different kind of doctor's visit. 🩺

Most of us have grown up sitting across from our doctor, a desk between us, a clipboard in hand, and a quiet sense of distance that makes it hard to say everything we really need to say.

At GP4Me Vredekloof, we do things differently.

When you walk in, you'll sit next to Dr Marle le Roux, not across from her. For many of our patients, it's the first time they've ever sat beside their doctor. And that small shift changes everything.

Dr MarlΓ© Le Roux found that when patients feel physically equal in the space, shoulder to shoulder, looking at the same screen, working through the same problem, they open up. They share more. They feel safer. And together, you get to a real solution, faster.

This is what medicine looks like when it's built around you.

Everything shared in your consultation is completely confidential. Your health, your story, your peace of mind - that's always protected.

Because at GP4Me, your GP is truly for you. πŸ’›

Women’s Health 🀍
When did you last have a check-up?

Many women delay their own health while taking care of everything and everyone else. A simple check-up is a meaningful way to look after yourself too.

Regular women’s health visits support early detection, prevention and ongoing wellbeing. They also give you the space to ask questions and feel reassured about your health.

A routine consultation may include Pap smear screening, breast examination, contraception advice and general health guidance tailored to you.

We understand that these visits can feel a little uncomfortable or uncertain. Our team focuses on creating a calm, respectful environment where you feel at ease and supported.

If you are due for a check-up or would like to chat about your health, we are here for you.
