Not only do we have hybrid (gas/electric) vaccine fridges and freezers, we also boast the World’s longest holdover vaccine fridges. With our unique patented Sure Chill® integrated ice bank technology our fridges have the ability of keeping vaccines safe for up to 30 days without any power. The latter are available in AC and direct solar. Our refrigerators boast low maintenance, low energy consumption and silent operation. Our range of absorption refrigerators and freezers are ideally suited to the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) and related requirements. Each medical refrigerator and freezer have been thermodynamically tested under extreme working conditions. This is to give you peace of mind under the unpredictable climatic and technical conditions faced by field doctors and vaccine officials. Each piece of cold chain equipment has been researched and designed with the WHO (World Health Organization) Test Procedures and Specifications in mind. The vaccine fridge everyone has been waiting for. With clinical stainless steel interior, separate fridge/freezer controller functionality and an extended holdover capability in the event of power outages, this is a "MUST have" to protect the integrity of your vaccine cold chain.

Storage and transport equipment such as cold rooms, refrigerators, freezers, cold boxes and vaccine carriers must comply with performance standards defined by the World Health Organization (WHO). Stock management procedures must also follow WHO guidelines specific to each type of vaccine.

Stray outside the prescribed temperature limits and the result will be a lot of discarded vaccine. Izak du Plessis spoke to Wessels and compiled this report.
