*Project Title:* Reindustrializing Communities Through Mushroom Farming
*Purpose* : To introduce communities in SA about Oyster Mushroom Farming through training, primary production and agro processing. We will be introducing other mushroom species as we have the knowledge on all mushroom species
We are building a Mushroom Cluster in South Africa and launching Mushroom Festivals in the new year.
*Target Market* : Farmers who need to diversify and new entrants into mushroom industry, including youth and persons with disabilities, mainly in rural and peri urban areas.

*About the opportunity:*
Mushroom farming is a niche agribusiness with endless opportunities for both fresh mushrooms and value added products
According to Data Bridge Market Reseach, the *Global Oyster Mushroom* cultivation is expected to account to $ *3,05 Billion by 2029* , where the Middle East and Africa will have the highest market share.
We have took the decision to *focus* on this industry to tap into this market, through the passion we have for Oyster Mushrooms and all other species which we will grow
*Project Scope* : High level one day training starting at 9.30 am to 4pm. We go through theory and practical session. Each trainee goes home with an inoculated bag to run a trial mushroom production at home based on the training received. They also receive a certificate of attendance. Light lunch is served.
*Market Access* : We have secured markets where the trainees are given an opportunity to be our outgrowers. We also share with them the strategies to access local markets.
*Co-ops formation* : Those that are interested to form co-ops after training are welcome to do so, we also offer them capacity building training to be able to work together.
*Minimum no of attendees in an area* : 20
*Training Fee* : R750 pp . Training Fees for Corporate Clients will be different from individual fees

*ART Consulting service:* We work together with these groups for sustainability of this project, to support our project title, and offer monitoring and evaluation services, we sign an MoU to that effect . We also extend related services such as inputs supply and setting up of growing houses and any other service that may be required.
*Milestone Achieved:* We have trained over 450 people in the last 7 months in 6 Provinces ie NW, GP, EC, NC, L, KZN & WC. 90% being women and 40% youth.
The Westrand group formalized themselves as a Coop called Westrand Fungiest, they are growing and selling.
*SDG's* : Our project is aligned to *13* of the *17* UN Sustainable Development Goals, and also covers the *Leave No One Behind* (LNOB) principle of the SDG's.
