Good posture isn’t just about looking confident; it’s about keeping your spine healthy and your body moving freely.

Chiropractors know that small daily habits can make a big difference:

• Keep your shoulders back and relaxed
• Align your ears over your shoulders when sitting or standing
• Take regular breaks from sitting - stretch and move!
• Support your lower back with proper seating
• Strengthen your core to help maintain natural spinal curves.

Your spine supports your entire body - treat it well!

If you experience pain or discomfort, a CASA-registered chiropractor can guide you with personalised advice and exercises to improve your posture and prevent future issues.

Your spine, your health, your posture. Choose chiropractic first.

Just because the temperature drops doesn’t mean your activity levels have to! Staying active in the cooler months boosts your mood, supports your spine health, and keeps your body strong and flexible.

Try cozy indoor exercises, brisk walks with a friend, or gentle stretches to keep your energy up and your body moving. Your spine will thank you!

My chiropractor clicks my back, so why can’t I just do it myself?

Or better yet, get a friend or family member to do it for me.

Chiropractors are extensively trained in the art of adjustments.

They study for many years to learn safe and effective methods to administer such treatment. By getting your friends or family to “click” your back you are putting yourself at risk of injury.

Here are some reasons why you should only be adjusted by a licensed professional:
1. They have received their education and training at a registered tertiary institution such as DUT or UJ.
2. You will receive the correct assessment and diagnosis of the problem at hand.
3. They will assess the necessary contra-indications for manipulative therapy and the safety based on the above findings.
4. You will receive follow-up care that is formulated specifically for you and your problem.

While family and friends may mean well, they typically lack the specialised training and knowledge required to perform safe and effective adjustments.

This could lead to unintended consequences, such as muscle strain, joint injury, or exacerbation of an underlying condition.

It’s always advisable to consult a registered chiropractor who can assess your specific needs, provide an accurate diagnosis, and deliver appropriate care based on their expertise and training.

This week, we celebrate the strength and nurturing power of mothers everywhere. Breastfeeding is not only essential for your baby’s nutrition but also for bonding and long-term health.

Did you know chiropractic care can play a supportive role in your breastfeeding journey? Gentle chiropractic treatments may help improve spinal alignment and nervous system function, which can assist with latch difficulties, feeding comfort, and overall well-being for both mom and baby.

At CASA, we encourage mothers to explore chiropractic care as part of a holistic support system to make breastfeeding easier and more comfortable. Find your nearest CASA-registered chiropractor here: https://membership.chiropractic.co.za/public

Is chiropractic care safe for children and the elderly?

Yes! Chiropractic care is tailored to suit the age, size, and health condition of each individual.

For children, adjustments are gentle and modified for growing bodies.
For older adults, care is low-force and carefully adapted to manage age-related conditions like arthritis, joint stiffness, and reduced
mobility.

Every spine deserves support, at every stage of life.
