Ernest Hemingway once said: In our darkest moments, we don’t need solutions or advice. What we yearn for is simply human connection—a quiet presence, a gentle touch. These small gestures are the anchors that hold us steady when life feels like too much.

Please don’t try to fix me. Don’t take on my pain or push away my shadows. Just sit beside me as I work through my own inner storms. Be the steady hand I can reach for as I find my way.

My pain is mine to carry, my battles mine to face. But your presence reminds me I’m not alone in this vast, sometimes frightening world. It’s a quiet reminder that I am worthy of love, even when I feel broken.

So, in those dark hours when I lose my way, will you just be here? Not as a rescuer, but as a companion. Hold my hand until the dawn arrives, helping me remember my strength.

Support is the most precious gift. It’s a love that helps us remember who we are, even when we forget.

Most of us who feel this way also engage in behaviors that cost us a lot of time unnecessarily. Behaviors like…

😬 Perfectionism: Striving to do things perfectly is a great way to consume a lot of time and the truth is, doing things “good enough” is enough!

I often refer to perfectionism as a hiding habit because it is a great way to spend loads of time and never really deliver anything of value (because it is never good enough).

😩 Stinkin’ Thinkin’: Author Nir Eyal says, “Thought management is time management.” I love that and could not agree more.

How much time do you spend beating yourself up, marinating in self-doubt, and/or wondering what other people think?

How much time might you reclaim if you did those things less?

🤔 Indecision: Not making decisions will cost you a tremendous amount of time.

When you make decisions strong and fast, you learn and grow faster.

When you don’t make decisions, not only do you stay stuck, but you also get a generous helping of overwhelm added on top!

WHY CAN’T I SLEEP? 🤷💤

This is one of the most common questions I get. So I’m resharing this quick vlog with my answer.

Sleep disturbance is a classic symptom of unhealed trauma and a dysregulated nervous system.

The good news? I watch my students restore their capacity to rest deeply every single day.
