Peers Health Care Center We provide a home away from home environment. Our luxury furnished facilities boast 30 private rooms.

We are geared to provide long-term care to those who can no longer live independently or who are recovering from an illness or operation.

What excitement we had in Healthcare! At last we have managed to find a therapy horse! She is an American miniature horse who is used to coming into health situations. The residents weren't told anything except that there was a surprise coming, and they were blown away when this gorgeous little mare walked in. She allowed all who wanted to pat her to do so, and then visited some residents in their rooms. We will have a visit each month from either Bambi or her mother, Dreamy.

The Fish Hoek Pre primary school came to give our residents a carol concert. This was arranged by our wonderful OT, Kim. Some love singing was followed by the children giving the residents a Christmas card and a chocolate.

This has been a busy week. Generation School invited the Healthcares of the Valley to a tea and concert, so off we went. There were singers, dramas and acrobatics. 2 girls gave a wonderful display of acrobatics on silk ropes. Our residents were each given a Christmas card, a bookmark and a ceramic medallion - all made by the children. Thank you so much, Generations.

Today was High Tea day, and the kitchen upped their game big time. I wish I was down there as well! The fun never stop...

We have bought new garden furniture and it looks wonderful. Those rooms with their own little space now have a table and two chairs. The dividing flower boxes are looking great as well.
New menu booklets have been developed, giving those residents who want to, the chance to decide on which dish they would like for that day. Our menus have all been passed by a qualified nutritionist!

On Friday we had the Joyce Chevalier folk come to visit and they played a game with our residents. It was well received on both sides, and the folk from Joyce Chevalier asked if they could come again. What a pleasure, and thank you to them.
