Sunscreen & Your Baby: What’s actually safe? ☀️👶
Baby skin is thinner, more sensitive, and absorbs more than adult skin.
That’s why sun avoidance is always first-line protection, especially under 6 months.
Under 6 months🍼
💙 Shade, hats, clothing + avoiding peak sun (10am–3pm) are key.
💙 Some mineral sunscreens are labelled from ~3 months, but this is for limited use on small exposed areas — not routine sun exposure.
If sunscreen is used🧴
✔️ Choose mineral only (zinc oxide / titanium dioxide)
✔️ Broad-spectrum, SPF 50
✔️ Sunscreen supports protection — it doesn’t replace shade
After ~6 months, mineral sunscreen becomes a standard part of sun care.
Protect early. Protect smart.
