Becoming a mother often brings a new layer to your relationship with your family, especially with your own parents.

Many women find themselves feeling more connected, more appreciative, and more open to receiving support and wisdom from the mothers and mother figures who came before them. At the same time, stepping into your own role as a mother can invite conversations about values, boundaries, and different ways of doing things.

These moments are part of growth. With open communication, mutual respect, and compassion, family relationships can evolve into something deeper, more understanding, and beautifully supportive. 🌿

Becoming parents together can shift everything.

Sleepless nights, new responsibilities, emotional ups and downs - it’s a lot for both partners. Many couples experience tension, misunderstandings, or distance after a baby arrives, not because the relationship is failing, but because you’re both adjusting to a completely new chapter.

If things feel harder than expected, know this: you’re not alone, and nothing has gone “wrong.” Learning how to communicate, ask for support, and move through this transition together takes time, patience, and care - for each other and for yourselves. 💚

In the first 6 weeks after birth, your body is doing some of its deepest healing - even if you can’t see it.

Your nervous system is recalibrating, your tissues are repairing, and your energy is recovering from pregnancy, birth, and interrupted sleep.

When we push too soon, it can add strain to a body that is already working incredibly hard.

Rest isn’t “doing nothing.” It’s an active part of your recovery - supporting your core, your pelvic floor, your hormones, and your emotional wellbeing. 🌿

Give yourself permission to pause, breathe, bond, and heal.

Your body deserves that softness. 💚

Open Mind & Open Heart ✨

As mothers-to-be and new moms, we all do it - we imagine what our pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey should look like. We create pictures in our minds, build expectations, and hold onto beliefs about how it will all unfold. It’s natural - it is how we prepare and connect to this huge life change.

(Spoiler: Social Media doesn’t always help! 🙈)

But what happens when reality doesn’t match the vision? When the birth doesn’t go to plan, the emotions feel heavier, or the postpartum phase feels lonelier than expected?

We can feel disappointed, frustrated… even angry.

This is your gentle reminder to approach motherhood with an open mind and an open heart. 💚 Let go of the “shoulds,” and meet yourself with compassion. Your journey is valid - even when it looks different from what you imagined.

Motherhood is beautiful, but it can also feel isolating. That’s why I created this space for moms to come together - because we all need connection, movement, and support.

If you have a little one (from just a few weeks old to 1 year), grab your sling, carrier, or stroller and join us for a relaxed walk, good conversation, and fresh air.

Location: Llandaff Fields, Cardiff
When: Every Friday at 09:00 (Weather dependent)

2023 was a year of challenges and change. It was also a year where we were stretched beyond our comfort and allowed ourselves to let go of many familiar things and habits.
