Welcome to October – the month in which mental health gets the attention it deserves as the whole of South Africa observes Mental Health Awareness Month.

At The Ithemba Foundation, we refer to October as HOPEtober, because we believe hope is the antidote to depression and despair. In HOPEtober, we look forward to the Hope Hike (5 October), the Cape Town Marathon (18-19 October) as well as our ‘Writing as therapy’ workshops (11 October).
