Many people think facial redness is just sensitive skin, but that’s not always the case.

Persistent redness on the cheeks or nose can sometimes be a sign of Rosacea, a common inflammatory skin condition.

In this video, Dr Zandile Spengane explains when facial redness should be assessed by a dermatologist and why proper diagnosis is important.

If you’re experiencing ongoing redness or irritation, it may be worth having your skin assessed by a specialist dermatologist.

He has already overcome it all 🙏🏽✨
“This Easter, I’m reminded:

Peace isn’t the absence of storms — it’s being anchored in Him through them.

The world may bring trials, uncertainty, and pain…
but we walk in victory, because He has already defeated the world.

Be brave. Be still. Stay rooted in Him. 🤍✝️

🚴🏽‍♂️ Cape Town Cycle Tour 2026 x Skin Scan Melanoma Screening Initiative ☀️
Over three incredible days, dermatologists volunteered their time to provide mass skin cancer screenings for participating cyclists. Long hours under the sun put athletes at increased risk of skin cancer, and early detection can truly save lives.

Dermatology is not just about beauty — it’s about protecting health and saving lives. Through prevention, awareness, and early diagnosis, we can change outcomes.

Because when it comes to skin cancer, prevention is always better than cure. 🩺🧴☀️

As a dermatologist, I see it all the time: a patient starts a new serum, doesn't see a glow in 72 hours, and tosses it. But your skin isn't a filter—it’s an organ with a 28-day renewal cycle!

Here is the realistic timeline for your favorite serums:
💦 Hyaluronic Acid: Instant plumping.
✨ Vitamin C: 8–12 weeks for that bright, even glow.
🧬 Retinols: 12+ wk to 6 mpnths for fine lines (the "purge" is real, don't quit!).
🌿 Niacinamide: 4–8 weeks for pore refinement and to lighten up pigmentation.

Consistency is the most important ingredient in your cabinet. 🧴

Call to Action: Which serum are you currently testing your patience with? Let’s chat in the comments!

A historic moment for African dermatology 🌍✨

UCT & Services SETA have officially turned the sod on the **Africa Research Initiative for Skin Health (ARISE)** — a first-of-its-kind centre dedicated to advancing skills development, research, and innovation in skin and hair science across the continent.

A decade-long vision led by **Prof N. Khumalo**, inspired and supported by the late **Prof Mayosi**, is now becoming reality.

As Deputy Minister Gondwe of Higher Education and training shared:
*“We are here to turn intention into infrastructure… investing in skills, strengthening institutions, and expanding productive capacity.”*

The future of African skin health begins HERE. Incredibly blessed to be part of such a momentous occasion and instrumental institution. The FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHT!!
