Thursday affirmation

“I choose to be kind to myself today.”

Oftentimes, the hardest person to show kindness to is ourselves. Trust me... I know all about it. However, for today, let’s practice gentle self-talk, rest when we need to, and honor our limits without guilt.
Because kindness starts from within.

Today marked my first day back at UWC since last year. In addition to my private practice, I also work at UWC within Student Support Services—a role that holds a special place in my heart. As a former full-time, struggling student at UWC, I deeply relate to many of the students I now support. This institution has given me a strong sense of belonging, and I feel privileged to give back in meaningful ways.

Whether through individual counseling, group sessions, or other platforms, I truly enjoy the work I do with students. I’m also grateful to be part of a multidisciplinary team of exceptional therapists, whose diverse perspectives inspire and challenge me. In contrast to the solitude of private practice, my time on campus allows me to connect, collaborate, and feel part of a larger community.

Today, I took a moment to savor the peace and quiet on campus, soaking in the beauty of my surroundings. Nature has always been my happy place. In just a few weeks, the stillness will be replaced by the vibrant energy of students returning to campus—a change I look forward to embracing.

January 2025 marks the 7th year of being in private practice. Back then, I had no idea what the journey would hold. The anxiety and imposter syndrome were very real in those early days.

Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to have met incredible mentors who have guided and inspired me. I’ve had the privilege of working with clients who entrusted me with their stories, and from them, I’ve learned lessons of resilience, courage, and connection.

This journey has been one of growth—both professionally and personally. I’m deeply thankful to my loved ones and to God for the unwavering support, and to my clients for allowing me to walk alongside them.

Here’s to continuing this meaningful work, embracing the challenges, and cherishing the connections that make it all worthwhile 😃

This past weekend, I had the privilege of facilitating a parenting workshop with an incredible group of parents who were eager to learn and generously shared their personal parenting journeys.

The workshop focused on key topics such as understanding child development, fostering healthy communication, setting boundaries, and prioritizing self-care.

Parenting can often feel overwhelming, isolating, and even filled with shame or fear. That’s why it’s so important for us to come together, have honest conversations, and tackle the difficult topics. Creating a space where parents can connect, support one another, and grow is truly invaluable.

Thank you to for the amazing administrative support and for the opportunity.
