There is beauty in prosthetic limbs. It just needs more exposure, especially in the fashion industry. This is exactly what 18-year-old Iona Hay aims to do when she signed with specialist talent agency Zebedee Management. In November 2021, Hay was scouted by the inclusive agency.

| 𝗠𝗔𝗬 𝗜𝗦 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞𝗘𝗥𝗦' 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗛 so we'll be focusing on some myths that surround the employment of persons with disabilities. Continued negative perceptions result in commonly-believed myths that result in employers being disinclined to offer employment opportunities to persons with disabilities.

𝗠𝗬𝗧𝗛: mployees with disabilities are more likely to have accidents on the job than employees without disabilities.

𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗧: In the 1990 DuPont study, the safety records of both groups were identical.

Heiron Joseph Nel Art, a quadriplegic mouth-painting artist from Huis Andries Olivier vir Kwadrupleë/House Andries Olivier for Quadriplegics, Durbanville has received a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to display his works in Zürich, Switzerland from 8 – 14 August 2022.

Phantom limb pain is real and a daily struggle for a lot of amputees. Please share your tips on how you manage your pain. Your advise might help someone out there.

Most amputees will usually feel painful and non-painful sensations at the site of the missing limb post-amputation. Physicians will initially manage phantom limb pain with medications and alternative but non-invasive treatments. However, once the patient has exhausted all options but the pain remains excruciating, surgical options, like thalamotomy, can be considered. Read more: https://zcu.io/6GSe
