The SHE Academy is a collective of Souls who come together to connect through the common passion and purpose of heart-centred learning.

What they discover here is beyond anything they could have ever imagined,

There are no deadlines.

There is no pressure to perform - or be the best. At anything.

In fact,

You're most accepted and celebrated here at your worst: crumbling under the weight of life - perceptions, expectations, responsibilities, duties....

And somehow in all of this - THIS is how we at SHE Academy find ourselves: through eachother.

In the end you magically certify as a Facilitator, or a Yoga Teacher. You forget that's why you arrived.

Because along the way you found so, so, so much more!

It doesn't look the way you think it will.

It doesn't feel the way you think it should. It doesn't even sound, touch, taste, smell familiar...

None of it is the way you think it SHOULD be.

We're living in weird times.

I'm not sure what to teach anymore.

I'm not even sure who I AM anymore...

Not just me in my life, or us as humans on Earth.
.. It's the beginning of such a reckoning - of an absolute unbecoming....

The world mirroring to me the transition-of-life which I myself am in -

Peri-menopause. Hold the applause. Usually so sure, and always so convincing.

But I don't really know anything...

This illusion, the absolute delusion.

I offer no solution.

Just a space, let's be still together...

A Daily Prayer

God,

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change (state of the world)

Courage to change the things I can (myself)

And wisdom to know the difference

At a time when many communities are experiencing conflict and uncertainty, we are creating a simple space each day to pause together.

🌹⏰ For 12 weeks - every day at 12:00 noon we are gathering for 12 minutes of prayer/silence.

You are welcome to join through our WhatsApp PRAYER CIRCLE 12noon daily - or simply pause wherever you are and connect with the intention.

❤️🙏🏽❤️ This Sunday at 12 noon we will START, gathering on the WA group for a 108-mala recitation of the Maha Mrityam Jaya mantra- traditionally offered for healing and protection.

Together we hold a collective intention for compassion - for civilians affected by war around the world and wherever they need it in their own lives.

I was taught that strength and protection are the same thing. I was raised to not show your scars. Your fears. Your Self.

This is such self-betrayal.

Especially in this day and age where everything is visible. Especially if your work is public.

Especially if visibility, transparency and vulnerability is your work.

THE Feminine is most visible in uncertainty. And this is where she is also the most rejected.

Year after year, training after training I learn again and again that I cannot escape discomfort, uncertainty, nor myself.

Naked. Raw. Unfiltered.

Paradoxically my greatest challenge as a Leader in The work of The Feminine...

It comes so easily to others.

I think mostly - I can't be bothered to show up like that - especially when my focus is on showing up to hold other people's growth.

It's easier to dismiss my own.

But it just doesn't work that way.

The spaces have to unite.

Inside me - first.

Here I am,
Practicing.

It's been a year!

Ocean driven living... Suddenly Surrender.

Then a Highveld Bush Baby once again 🌳🎋🏡🪾

At no point did I have to mourn moving.

(Even though I miss the Sea and my Cape Town community - every. single. day...)

It's been SO worth it to come back home and be surrounded by family -
And my old, incredibly grounded and super powerful medicine-woman friends.

My circle is closer, smaller -
And tighter than ever.

My heart is wiser, lighter and more playful than ever!

I literally have no idea what my next move is - or what God has planned for me.

But I know that this next chapter is more about watching -
Than performing.

The Path opening up now is not about healing but blending...

It's about embracing -
*Everything*
That comes my way.

I no longer care for the story of the “sister wound”.

I’ve been walking this path too long to be so naïve.

Some will come together, some won’t.

Some will do the work, some won’t.

Some will bring kindness, some won’t.

And that’s okay.

Because my devotion is not to the drama.
It is to The Work.

The Work is Sacred:

Feminine Energy moves through all of life — through men and women,
through creation itself.

This is not surface work.

It is Mystery Work.

This is a path of Wisdom
And the healing of our deepest fractures.

Over 15 years of my time - more than 5000 women have shown up.

They do the work.

They return again and again and again.

This is who I serve.

This is what I offer.

This is my life’s devotion.

I serve The Sacred Feminine.

That’s it.

J’anaki Ra

J’anaki began her personal yoga practice in 2004 at the Sivananda Yoga Centre in London. After many years of working in the corporate world she decided to embark upon a journey of the Soul, completing travels throughout Asia, and most notably the birth-place of Yoga: India.

Whilst in India J’anaki had the good fortune to study with many influential Yogis and then immediately went on to complete a rigorous Yoga Teacher Training at the Sivananda Yoga Ashram in New York in 2008. In mid-2009 J’anaki returned to South Africa and further trained under the Satyananda Yoga tradition.

Although still teaching classical Hatha Yoga, J’anaki was inspired by her own Pregnancy Yoga classe undertaken in Ireland (through Uma www.yonishakti.co ) to begin teaching prenatal yoga in South Africa in 2010 when Yoga Mama (www.yogamama.co.za) was born.
