For many families, this is the reality when it comes to Tuberculosis.

TB is preventable. TB is treatable. But early diagnosis makes all the difference.

Matthew Goniwe Memorial High School in Khayelitsha serves 1,364 learners — yet currently lacks dedicated science laboratories and a fully equipped computer centre.

The SAME Foundation is raising R2.7 million to establish:
• Two fully equipped science laboratories
• One modern computer centre

At New Somerset Hospital, doctors and nurses care for nearly 26,000 inpatients every year — but their mobile X-ray unit is failing. Without reliable imaging at a patient’s bedside, critically ill patients must be moved, delayed, or wait when time they don’t have is slipping away.

We are the SA Medical and Education Foundation, an education and healthcare focused NPO. Our mission is to create an environment where quality health care and education is available to everyone. We use high impact projects in order to supply both medical and education services of South Africa with the resources and infrastructure they vitally need to enhance the treatment they already offer to their community.

We work with facilities whose sole income source is the Government / state budget, and who are responsible for the health and education of over 85% of South Africa’s population. We are committed to helping the citizens of South Africa to equal healthcare and education no matter what their situation in life. Our track record of completing over 50 projects in the last 15 years shows our dedication to uplift communities through strategic projects.
