We see ovarian cysts so often in our day to day practice- most are harmless and cause more anxiety than any real health related risks.

Some cysts such as those where there are also solid growths (as opposed to fluid filled areas) and those occuring in older woman are more concerning.

Are your periods too heavy?
Our periods are something we often don't talk about ... we tend to normalize our own cycles and periods, sometimes not realizing that what we experience on a monthly basis may not be entirely normal or may be causing us distress that could be treated ...
Signs of a heavy period include:
bleeding with clots
changing pads or tampons every few hours
using pads and tampons
Having accidents
Avoiding going out when bleeding in case an accident happens
Anaemia or iron deficiency
fainting or feeling dizzy

There are many solutions depending on your age and personal symptoms and needs.

Did you know you can have a water birth at Vincent Palotti? All birthing rooms have baths which make for a fantastic way to relax and manage pain during labour. Birthing in water is also very possible and encouraged for those mommies that choose this ... specifically of lower risk and not needing other pain relief.
Benefits of water birth: natural pain relief and comfort, privacy, less tearing, able to be a part of your birth, gentle entrance for baby and less clinical.
Both Dr Johnson and Murray regularly perform water births;)
