Last night I attended a webinar about incontinence in women. This is way more common that people realise, especailly after child birth and after menopause. Pelvic floor exercises and breathing can be of assistance. This webinar was specifically looking at the use of the stimpod NMS460 on the femoral nerve. The femoral nerve is stimulated where the thigh meets the pelvis (the panty line at the front in the groin). The nerve is stimulated for 5 minutes on each side. Case studies show drastic improvements in most patients within 1-3 sessions. This could mean not having to wear pads all day, every day and not having to plan your day around bathroom visits, not leaking with every laugh or cough, massively improving quality of life for so many women. Please contact us if you would like more information. , , ,

REST. What does that word mean to you?
This week the KTPhysio team attended a workability webinar on rest.
Patients often get told to "rest" without any instruction on what that actually means... does it mean lie in bed or day, not lift anything heavy or carry on as normal, just don't exercise.
In reality, rest means different things to different people and means different things in different situations.
On the webinar, one physio said she rested today after doing the 2 oceans marathon the previous day. her version of rest was a full day at work, just not running.
Another's rest was watching series.
My rest time is when I can lie down and read my book for 15 minutes.

What rejuvenates you? Sleep, creativity, walking, meditation?

In chronic pain and chronic fatigue, rest can be essential to prevent the "boom and bust" cycle. However, just lying down in bed doesn't rejuvenate these patients.
So we explored the concept that rest is an active process and most definately a skill to learn and master.
Rest is an active part of recovery and should be intentional, not filled with guilt. It is an important skill like learning to lift and move well.
If you want further information, chat to your physio. 🙂🙂

Stimpod NMS 460 is our newest addition to the practice and we LOVE it. The results have been amazing so far! Using it as an adjunct to our normal treatments or in some people, a stand alone treatment for chronic pain, muscle activation and sensory changes. Recommended is 4-6 sessions but in some people we have seen results after the first session. Some of the things we've treated include sciatica, carpal tunnel, nerve pain from disc injury, drop foot, tennis elbow and back/neck pain. It works through neuromodulation.

No other treatments worked for these patients. This is how the Stimpod NMS460 helped them recover from pain and other neurological conditions. Learn more at www.stimpodnms460.com.

It has been a busy year for us at Katherine Tait Physio. We love all our patients but we also value some time for our own self care 😍 and are looking forward to spending time with our families and friends. So, we are off on holiday🤩. We will be closed from 19th December 2025- 12th January 2026.
Thank you to all our patients for your loyalty and referrals to your friends, for the challenges you present us (we love a challenge 😆), for the interesting conversations and your dedication to helping yourself heal and get back to doing the things you love. We love our jobs!
This year we welcomed Sam to the practice (what a blessing), Sabrina continued to work miracles. We introduced the Back and neck assistance programme (BNAP)from workability and continued with the discovery spinal programme enabling patients to access continuity of care and evidence based rehab for back pain at no cost, we started providing weekly physio at Oasis Burgandy retirement village. We took part in wings for life race with our team and our patients. And we saw a whole lot of people walk in on crutches/ bent double in pain/ unable to sit/ stand/ walk/ play sports, who walked/ran out without crutches, standing tall and back doing their chosen activity. We are so grateful to be able to help people every single day 🥰
Have a blessed festive season
