✨Have you heard of labour and birth companions?✨
The labour ward can be a daunting place, where you use loads of physical and emotional energy to bring your special baby into the world! So you might want to think of bringing some support with you!
Your labour and birth companion is anyone of your choosing, who can support you in ways such as: packing your labour snacks, making sure you stay hydrated, using words of affirmation to encourage you, help support you on the labour ball and in different positions, and physical touch and massage (the list goes on!)
A labour and birth companion can contribute to feeling safe and empowered, and in turn, promote the natural physiology of labour. Numerous studies have shown that people in labour who have access to physical and emotional support from a trusted person have improved experiences and outcomes.
✨Comment who your birth companion was and what they did to help you through labour!✨
