It is an NPO, NGO based in Lavender Hill, Cape Town, working with women and children suffering from sexual and physical abuse. Our current projects our:
SUPPORT GROUP FOR YOUNG WOMEN-Currently we are working with 90 women suffering from domestic and sexual abuse. CHILDREN'S CRAFTS-Arts PROGRAM-We work with about 100 children suffering from abuse daily, from different schools around the Lavender Hill area. ELDERLY SUPPORT GROUP-Currently working with 60 elderly women, who are victims of abuse. ARTS AND CRAFTS-Arts and Crafts are taught to the women in the hope that they can use these skills to generate a source of income. Arts and Crafts include, hats, clocks, various types of jewelry and lamp shades. More of these crafts can be viewed on the website. KITCHEN-Our feeding scheme is currently reaching out to around 200 people in the community. SAFE HOUSE-Our emergency safe house accommodates women and children who have been abused. We can accommodate them for up to 48 hours where we then arrange a shelter for them or refer them to Social Development. VOLUNTEER PROGRAM AND INTERNSHIPS-We are currently recruiting volunteers from overseas. This is a very rewarding and eye opening experience where you are able to share your skills with the Lavender Hill Community. Volunteers are currently organizing IT training, Music, Sports and Business Skills.
